Above, or to the side, is what a Lycan is.
"What do you mean Alpha Academy?" I asked my father, Alpha Nick Corvin, direct descendant of Michael Corvin and William; the first Lycan. He sat across from me with his legs up on his desk and his hands clasped behind his head. My father stood half a head taller than me with dark brown, almost black hair, dark green eyes, and looked like a thirty year old man, when in reality he was fifty two. The perks of being a Lycan.
And not just an ordinary wolf. A Pureblood Alpha Lycan. An Alpha from a long but dwindling line of pure Lycans. Like my dad I was stronger than other Alphas.
"You are next in line to be Alpha, you have to go to this academy. It's for the best. Not only for the extra training with others that might be able to give you a proper fight besides me but to also be able to connect to the future members of your pack on a deeper level." He said calmly.
I just stared blankly trying to wrap my head around the individual letters my father is saying, "Besides, this will give you a chance to build rapport with the packs we are on mostly good terms with."
Doesn't he realize the two biggest problems in this?
"This change of scenery in the next few days will be beneficial for both of you," I stood up abruptly, he just wants me to up and leave the pack?
I couldn't stand by in la la land as my pack was elsewhere.
"What about the pack? I'm not just going to leave my pack like this Alpha, to be attacked constantly while I'm off at a preppy school." I said
"Yes, I realize that. All children, 18 and under, will be going to a separate school that is six miles from the school you will be attending. I thought this through before I made the decision."
Obviously not thoroughly. He still didn't get the biggest problem.
"I still don't believe this is a good idea." I trailed off running an anxious hand down my face.
He leaned forward in his chair elbows resting on the desk and hands clasped in front of him, his piercing gaze making me look to his right not wanting to disrespect him.
"And why don't you Naiyla?" I'm a female. That's the problem.
"You really want me, a female, to go to a school overflowing in our terms with male Alphas? I am struggling to see how this is not a bad idea?" I said. I don't want to be stuck in a school with a bunch of hormonal Alphas, myself included.
Although, as a born and bred Alpha of the Corvinus line I did have some extra training to be able to control the anger I felt toward anyone trying to take over anything I deemed as any type of possession it still is hard when someone deliberately or ignorantly tests me.
My father spoke again causing me to look in his general direction not realizing I let my gaze move farther away from him, "That is what you are worried about, Naiyla? I am not even worried about it. Not to mention the punching incident again or the 'Shira Circus' a few months ago but I am not in the least bit worried that you cant handle yourself."
I stayed silent thinking it over. It was true and I winced at the mention of the 'Shira Circus' not wanting to suffer the humiliation again.
Fingers were snapped in my face and I looked up at my father, "Do you doubt the training I gave you to protect yourself and others?" My father's face was still hard but his eyes looked broken. As an Alpha you can't show your weaknesses as you never want to be looked down upon. My father bearing this expression in front of me left a singe in my heart knowing that I hurt him in not trusting in his training.
