I tried prying open my eyes but it felt as if there were ten pound weights on each of them.

Instead I just sat up muttering, "Shit. I feel like I got ran over by a truck."

The sound of someone getting up made me snap my eyes open only to shut them quickly at the pain they sent through my corneas.

"Naiyla? Naiyla are you up?" The heartbroken voice of my best friend hit my ears. I slowly opened my eyes to see Lace standing at the side of the bed I was in with teary eyes.

"Oh Lace come here." I said wrapping my arms around my best friend.

Seeing my beta like this was heartbreaking. After everything we've been through together ow oil dnt be able to live with myself if I lost him or vice versa. He basically crumbled into my arms, "I thought I lost you. I didn't think you were going to make it. You lost so much blood then Micah-"

"Wait where's Micah, Lace." I asked. As I was out I made the decision to forgive and apologize to Micah. I finally realized that I couldn't live without him.

Lace looked at me with sadness and pain filled eyes, "They took him." he whispered, "The vampires took him."

I think my world just fell underneath me.

"What happened." I asked in a daze.

"They came in here and were threatening to take you but Micah let them take him instead. He wasn't strong enough to get away if he were to try." he said.

"Why wasn't he strong enough." I asked.

"He gave you his blood. He swapped with you so you had a fighting chance. Otherwise you'd be dead by now." he said.

I was panicking. I didn't know what thy would do to him or what they would have him do. I didn't want any of them to put their filthy claws on him.

"We have to find him." I said standing up only to collapse because my knees gave out.

"Naiyla you still aren't strong enough."

"He wasn't strong enough to fight for me but he did risk his life. In going to do the same." I said before standing up on wobbly legs and grabbing the pair of sweats and T-shirt that was on the counter in there and throwing them on.

I heard lace sigh in frustration and come toward me helping me, "At least if your going to go get yourself killed let me be there to call dibs on your stuff. he said trying to lighten the mood.

"Of course you would try to get my stuff on my death bed." I said laughing.

"If I don't then someone else will." He said shrugging and putting his sweater on me.
