Twenty Nine

Five Years Later

Lauren Cimorelli sat in front of her mirror as Lisa began to curl her hair. Dani sat in front applying make up to her face.

"And just part your lips slightly." Dani said.

Lauren did as she was told so her younger sister could apply the nude lipstick to her lips.

"Now." Dani began as she grabbed the make up bag and began to look through it. "Do you want to some gloss over it? To give it that little bit of sparkle and shine?" She asked looking up.

Lauren shook her head as she watched Lisa in the mirror as she carefully wrapped her hair around the curling iron.

"I know you're nervous, everyone's nervous...It's a big day." Dani said setting down the make up bag.

"So many thought are running through my mind...Bad thoughts."

"Well ignore them." Dani said standing up. "I'm gonna go get ready. You look amazing."

Dani walked out of the room, leaving only Lisa and Lauren.

"Here." Lisa said as she reached over to the table and grabbed a glass of wine. "Drink this."

Lauren carefully took the glass from Lisa and took a small sip.

"Rosé is so amazing." Lauren smiled before taking another sip.

Lisa smiled at her sister, today was an important day. To everyone.

"Okay, there we go. All done." Lisa smiled as she stood back.

Lauren stood up and turned around to face Lisa who had a huge smile on her face.

"How do I look?" Lauren asked feeling nervous.

"Beautiful, but it's not me who should be telling you."

Lauren gave her a half smile before turning around as the door opened.

"Ready?" Mike smiled.

"Let's do this...If I wait any longer I'll feel like I'll pass out."

Mike chuckled at his daughter as he opened the door wider for her. She walked through the door, followed by Lisa.

They walked down the corridor and when she reached the end, she saw the rest of her sisters, they wore huge smiles on their faces.

"Wow Lauren, you look amazing." Christina said.

"I second that." Katherine spoke.

"I third that." Amy said as she gave an even bigger smile.

"Okay I get it." Lauren laughed.

Music began to play and the girls stood in a line and then made their way out into the next room.

"I'm so proud of you Lauren. We're happy for you." Mike said as lifted his arm up.

Lauren hooked her arm through his and she felt tears forming as they followed behind her sisters.

Her eyes immediately locked on to the person who was a few meters in front of her.

Wearing a black suit and even wearing a tie.

Lauren released herself from Mike as she took her place in front of the girl she's loved for so long.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments and to cherish the words which shall unite Lauren Christine Cimorelli and Jade Carter in marriage. Marriage is the promise between two people who love eachother and who trust in that love. Who honor eachother as individuals and who choose to spend the rest of their lives together. This ceremony will not create a relationship that does not already exist between you. It is a symbol of how far you have come these past few years. It is a symbol of the promises you will make to eachother to continue growing stronger as individuals and as partners. No matter what challenges you face you now face them together, and no matter how much you succeed you now succeed together. The love between you joins you now as one."

Jade took a step towards Lauren and wiped a few tears away, causing more to fall from the sweet action.

"Jade, you may say a few words."

Jade grabbed Lauren's hands and rubbed her hands with her thumb. "We have been through quite alot together, things happend and those things changed us...But one thing that never changed was my feelings for you. The further apart we got the stronger my feelings grew. Once we were together again my feelings were cemented in place. Every day I wake up next to you, falling for you all over again. Having you forever to hold, to kiss and protect...It's the best life anyone could live. I never thought I'd find a home for my heart..But my heart has found a home in you."

Jade turned to look at her Mum who had started crying and gave her a smile.

"And now Lauren, if you would like to share some words."

"I feel like everything in my life has led me to you. Standing in front of you today. My choices, my heartbreaks, my regrets. Everything. And when we're together my past seems worth it because if I had done one thing differently, we might not be here today. I love you. I have since the moment we met and I'll continue to do so until I take my last breath."

It was Jade's turn to cry and it was Lauren's turn to wipe away the tears.

They continued with the ceremony, the rings were placed on their fingers and they felt eachother love the other more.

"I pronounce you Mrs and Mrs Carter-Cimorelli. You may now kiss."

Jade gently pulled Lauren close and wrapped her arms around Lauren.

"I love you." She whispered before kissing her wife slowly.

Everyone began to clap and cheer. Confetti filled the air as they parted lips.

"Mommy!"

Jade quickly knelt down as a small child ran full force into her.

"Josh." Jade grinned as she picked her son up.

"Hey little man." Lauren smiled as she gently pushed his hair back.

"Mommy." He smiled looking at Lauren.

Through everything they had been through, they never thought that they would get married and have a family of their own...Together. Jade never imagined she'd be standing here, her child in her arms next to her wife, Lauren Cimorelli. She didn't want to move...But she's glad she did. She met the most amazing family.

And now, they're her family.
