ALANA POV

My eyes slowly opened as I felt my body being jostled slightly. A warm pair of arms were removed from beneath me, replaced by a soft pillow under my head. A warm feeling draped over my body, and I guessed it was a blanket. I couldn't see much, what with my hazy vision combined with the fact that it was completely dark in the room. I heard the sound of fabric before my jeans were being tugged off and thrown to the floor. I moved my head slightly and made a soft noise, most likely an incoherent mumbling of some sort. I couldn't tell if I was awake or asleep, but then I felt something warm and bare press against my back as the strong arms wrapped around me again. My hand gripped his wrist.

"Chris?" I mumbled tiredly, my eyes still fluttering weakly as they struggled to open.

"Go back to sleep princess." He whispered, and I felt his lips brush against my forehead as light as a feather. I felt my body instantly drifting back to sleep, but just before unconsciousness completely swept over me, I think I smiled. He had carried me to bed.

"Look what I got!" A loud voice yelled, causing my heart to skip a beat as I was roughly jolted out of my sleep.

"What the...?" I rubbed my eyes and groaned as my head spun from sitting up too quickly. I felt someone lightly leap onto the bed as he chuckled and crawled towards me.

"Sorry." He said, still laughing as he pried my hands away from my face. I hissed and closed my eyes, the bright sunlight hitting me in full force as it streamed through his glass wall.

"Look Alana!" He repeated, sounding like an excited child.

"What?" I groaned in an annoyed tone. I heard the crinkling of paper as it waved in front of my face, and I reached up and snatched it from him to cease the loud, unwanted sound.

"Open it." He exclaimed, and my vision slowly focused to see him grinning at me as he kneeled on the bed a few inches from where I sat. I sighed and looked down at the envelope, which had already been previously opened. I reached inside and removed the paper, unfolding it.

"Read it out loud." He said, chuckling as if he knew some inside joke. I shot him a suspicious look before I began to read it.

"Dear Alana Simmons,

We are pleased to inform you that you will be completing the remainder of your school year with us, and we hope to see you as soon as possible! Your schedule for the second semester is attached to this form, and should be looked over thoroughly before Monday morning arrives. If you have any questions upon your arrival to our school, you may visit the guidance counselor to the left of the main entrance. We wish you good luck."

I sighed deeply and then glared at Chris.

"I thought it was actually something exciting." I grumbled angrily. I saw him blush a bit in embarrassment.

"Well... I thought it would be. You still haven't checked out your schedule!" He said quickly, changing the subject. I rolled my eyes and turned to the attached paper, scanning it quickly to confirm that it was my schedule.

"Okay great, you enrolled me in a new high school. How wonderful." I exclaimed sarcastically. His face fell a bit.

"Sorry Lana... But I thought it was essential to finish your senior year." He said, raising an eyebrow. I shook my head.

"Do you know how many people drop out of high school in the middle of senior year?" I asked, crossing my arms. He shrugged.

"I didn't want you to be one of them. Come on Lana it's only a month." He pleaded. I sighed.
