Nabil saw her again at training the next day, clad in a Schalke polo shirt. ❝There's the new girl,❞ Benjamin came up to him.
There was clearly something off about her that morning. Sure he had only seen her once, but Nabil knew a mess when he saw one. ❝She looks–❞ he searched for a word, ❝–tired.❞
Benjamin shrugged, ❝probably out partying last night.❞ To be fair, the younger lads in the team frequented partying. So Nabil was thinking the same. But he only chuckled in reply.
The girl looked around the field, hardly listening to her superior. She spotted Nabil and made a mental note to catch up with him later.
Two hours later she stood before the field, eyeing him. He was ambling her way though he didn't see her. She stared, waiting for him to notice. When he finally did, he got a shock; again.
❝Hey,❞ she grinned. The previously disheveled bun had been replaced with a neat ponytail. But her eyes reflected the lack of sleep all the same. ❝Sorry about yesterday,❞ there was a look of embarrassment on her face.
Nabil shot her a small smile, ❝no sweat.❞
In that moment she decided she really liked his smile. He on the contrary, simply wanted to retreat back into the dressing room.
❝Didn't break anything did I?❞ She had to check. Nabil chuckled and said no. ❝Thank goodness. But let me make it up to you!❞ she began speaking quickly.
❝I'll bring you to this pub I went to yesterday–❞ she was interrupted by Nabil shaking his head. He flashed her another smile, ❝I don't drink.❞
