The boys had told Nabil they had a blast at the club Erin brought them to. And that they wished he had been there. But they respected his religion, and he was beyond grateful. The thought came to mind as he drove to a convenience store that evening.
Truthfully, he despised that particular store. It was located in a street where bars and clubs were scattered in every corner. The night life there, was exceptionally vibrant.
But that store had a halal section that housed items of extremely large variety. Many were stuff he specifically used. So to put it simply; he had no choice.
He parked behind the store and brisk walked inside. Within forty minutes, he was done. Some of the guys were coming over tomorrow night and he wanted to be ready.
As Nabil walked to his car, he could see party-goers almost everywhere. He was about to enter when he heard something. His name.
❝Nabil!❞ That voice was too familiar. Erin threw her arms around Nabil, who was caught completely off guard. ❝I'm so happy to see you,❞ she laughed, pressing her face into his shoulder.
She was wasted. Nabil could smell the booze as he gently pried her off. ❝Erin, you had a little too much to drink?❞ He held her at arms length, by the shoulders.
Sure they weren't exactly friends. But Nabil knew it couldn't hurt to show concern. She was about to speak when another girl appeared, pulling Erin away. ❝Sorry,❞ she look ashamed.
❝Bye Nabil!❞ Erin sang as her friend half-carried her away. Nabil simply chuckled, shaking his head as he entered his car. But he forgot, that everything happens for a reason.
