I brought Dan closer and closer to the board walk. I'm sure he knew where we were going. Every weekend this time of year the board walk opens up to be a awesome and fun fair.
It was one of our favorite places when we were little. There was cotton candy, games, rides, clowns. Well, I never liked the clowns very much.
I hope Dan is having a good time, because all I can think about is the fact that every single second we are just getting closer and closer and closer to when he will have to leave and go home. I don't want him to have to leave me.
I just want to fill up all our time together with the things we used to love. I want to reminisce in all the good times. And there were so many good times...
"I haven't been to the fair since... Well, you know" he said, looking ahead at the big Farris wheel.
"Well you're here now! We're here now." I say. He looks at me for a moment before grabbing my hand. I'm glad he did, because I wouldn't grab his hand unless he wanted to, to make sure he's comfortable.
He happily hops over the cracks on the pavement as we reach the ticket stand.
"Can we get 20 tickets please?" I ask the man working at the stand. He just grunts and hands me the tickets. I give him the money, and walk away. Someone without any enthusiasm shouldn't be working at a place like this, in my opinion.
We walk past rigged game after rigged game, stopping at the ones we want to try. We play a ring toss, a dart game, and a few other games too. But we only walked away with one small little stuffed animal, that i think was supposed to be a cat, but lookedmore like it was a pig or something.
"We could ride the Farris wheel?" I suggest to Dan once we are done with all of the rigged games here. He agrees and so we go and get in line.
The lines here are pretty short because not many people come here. It was busy when they first set it up, but then it loses its popularity. It's just how it always works.
We get on and they load a few other groups on to the other empty seats and we set off.
"Its kind of chilly, don't you think?" Dan asks after a minute. He was right too, clouds were covering the sun so it was a bit chilly. I nodded.
"I'm really enjoying this time with you " I say a minute later. He smiles and blushes, and it's cuts.
"I'm enjoying this time with you too. A lot"he responds. He rubs the back of his neck and looks out at the view.
"Its really pretty from up here" I whisper quietly. From up here you could see the glow from the sun behind the clouds. You could see most of the town.
I could see my house, and the park. And it all had an evening glow to it.
"Its not as pretty as you" he says, looking over at me, and now it was my turn to blush. God why was he so cute.
The next thing I knew he was moving closer to me, and then leaned in to kiss me. And so we kissed on the Farris wheel, like a cliché.
And then the ride was done, sooner then I wanted it to be. And the sun was lower then I wanted it to be.
And it's just no fair that time flies when you're having fun.
