The flyers were up. Everything was in place."There's going to be another riot, guys."
"Where, when and why?" Dean asked.
"Bakers Heaven, 3:15 and they aren't letting people who are gay, transgender, African American, Asian or Hispanic in."
"Damn. Wait, how the hell would they know if someone's gay?"
"Two words- Stereotypes and Assumptions."
"That was three but okay."
"People are jerks."
"Sadly, yes. Why do we have to live in a racist America?"
"One name- Greedman."
"Yup."
"We're definitely going to protest."
"Awesome!"
"Two of my friends will be there."
"Oh?"
"My friend Banda and Mina. The two are girlfriends and Mina's from Japan."
"What about Banda?"
"She's African American. She texted me recently saying she'd be there. She said:
"Look, I'm both gay AND black. Do you really think I'd miss this protest? Nope!"
She's a very sweet girl, though."
"It's all of this damn racism that's keeping people apart."
"Yup."
"Maybe Banda and Nina could help us with Hands For Love."
"I'll ask after the protest."
"Awesome."
"We'd better head over there, the protest starts in fifteen minutes."
"Alright, let's roll."
Everyone stood up, grabbing their sweaters and coats, exiting their facility, driving off to Bakers Heaven.------
"Jesus." Dean whispered, noticing the large amount of people outside of Bakers Heaven. Fred walked up and tapped on Banda's shoulder. She smiled and gave him a hug, as did Mina. The others walked over.
"These are my friends, Isabella, Ariel, Ziggy and Paige. You already know my boyfriend, Dean." Banda gave everyone a hug, Mina doing the same. Everyone prepared themselves for the protest. Marlene and Dominic arrived, greeting everyone that came. Marlene and Dominic got ready. Everyone raised their signs, others the peace sign with their fingers. They got ready. Marlene and Dominic held hands and started the chant:
"One, two, three, four, let us in or walk on home! Five, six, seven, eight, drop your hate and integrate!" Everyone kept that chant going loud and clear. People began gathering around joining in on the chant. Others slammed their doors closed and called the cops. They weren't going anywhere. The police hadn't arrived yet, so they kept changing and protesting. The cops still hadn't arrived. Maybe they'd given up? Unfortunately, the police arrived and threatened to shoot every last activist. They stood their ground and kept chanting. The police had enough and one of them pulled the trigger, causing Dominic to go down. Marlene screamed and shook Dominic, trying to wake him up. He'd been shot in the shoulder. The other activists tried helping get Dominic into Marlene's car so they could drive him to a hospital. Others ran. The police didn't arrest anyone, but Dominic was still wounded. Ariel, Banda, Isabella, Fred, Ziggy, Paige, Dean and Mina hopped into their cars and followed Marlene to the hospital. They were instantly admitted. They said they'd have to pull the bullet out of his shoulder. They waited in the waiting room, anxiously awaiting the results. After about 2 hours, the doctor came back.
"She- er, he's okay. The surgery was successful, he just needs to rest for a few weeks in order for his shoulder to heal."
"Thank you doctor." Marlene said. Everyone said their goodbye's and gave Marlene a hug, as everyone was very hopeful that Dominic would be able to recover from a bullet wound. Everyone left, as Marlene stayed back with her boyfriend, praying that he would recover sooner rather than later.Back at "Hands For Love," Banda and Mina agreed to help their new friends out with their organization. When they got back, they sat down and began to discuss what they were going to do, when they heard a knock on the door. Outside was a young teenage girl, who looked to be about 15-17 years old. The rain was pouring harder than they'd remembered. The girl stood, her arms wrapped around her body. Fred, who had answered the door, noticed she wasn't wearing a jacket, but had a suitcase and a backpack. All she was wearing was a pink t-shirt, blue jeans and brown leather boots. She had long blonde hair and green eyes. Her skin was pale, and she was shivering. Fred invited her inside. They talked to the young girl, to figure out why she was left stranded in the rain without a coat.
