Taylor pulled into the parking space swiftly and Alexa thanked God she was still alive. She swore an animal could drive safer than Taylor could! They both hopped out of Taylor's convertible and headed towards the main school building. They pushed open the door and entered the building. The hallways were bustling with students but they stopped in their tracks as the two girls walked through them.
"That's her" a girl Alexa recognised from the year below laughed pointing at her.
"Does she have a bump yet?"
"What a slut"
"Like who'd even go near her?"
People started talking loudly about her as they passed through them. Alexa stopped dead. They knew. They knew she was pregnant. But how?
She turned to face a shocked Taylor who shrugged at her and sighed “THIS definitely takes, eats and shits the cake.
Her blasé attitude made Alexa's blood boil even more and she stormed away from her into the girls’ bathrooms, which were thankfully empty. She clutched onto one of the sinks as it sunk in that everybody knew. She suddenly gasped as she realised something important. If everyone out there knew, that meant Carson did too. He was bound to, he was a popular and damn they loved to gossip. Her stomach churned as she slid down the wall onto the floor, holding her head in her hands. What was she going to do? It was evident Taylor wasn't going to be much help. She felt betrayed that her best friend had been so calm about what was happening. This was her life that was going downhill.
She spent the next few minutes in this same position attempting to calm herself down before the door of the bathroom flung open roughly. She raised her head slowly expecting an apologetic Taylor but instead she found a fuming Carson standing in front of her. She gasped and scrambled to her feet.
"Alexa" his voice was stern. His face was uncharacteristically serious and he looked like he would erupt like a dodgy science fair volcano at any moment.
Realising she was in no state to cope with him right now, she did what she did best. She ran. She pushed past him and hurried out the bathroom door and into the crowded hallways. It appearing running was no use though as she could hear him coming after her, and he was a football player of course so he definitely had to the speed to catch up with her.
"Alexa!" he sounded worn out now, "Alexa, we need to talk. NOW"
She spun around angrily. He was demanding her to talk. This was his fault. It was all his fault. He was about a metre away from her. He was glancing worriedly around him, as if he'd only realised they were standing in a crowded hallway with a least sixty gossip loving students. She could see a girl attempting to whisper something to her friend but it seemed she hadn't mastered the knack of whispering as she said loudly announced, "Omg, Carson's the baby daddy".
Her voice echoed and the whole hallway turned their gaze to them searching them faces as to whether what the girl had said was true. Carson's face was deadly white as he took a step towards her, grabbing her wrist roughly.
"Come on" he hissed ignoring the students around them. He started to pull her roughly down the hallway as the crowd's chatter got louder and louder.
Alexa struggled trying to pull away from him but he was stronger than her. Suddenly though, she felt nauseous and her head began to spin violently. She opened her mouth and let out a blood-curdling cry as pain soared through her stomach. Carson released his hold on her finally realising something was wrong just as her legs went weak and she fell to the ground clutching her stomach.
"ALEXA!" I heard his voice echo in her head along with the noise of the students around them but she made no attempt to answer.
Even if she had wanted to, she couldn't. Pain was surging through her stomach, as she lay there moaning in agony. Her eyes felt heavy, as she felt someone wrap their arms around her and lift her. She don't know what happened next as the whole world went black but the last thing she remembered was wondering if her baby was okay,

Alexa's eyes flickered open slowly. Her mouth was dry and her whole body ached when she attempted to sit up.
"No, no no. You need to lie down Lex" the voice was familiar and as the speaker rushed towards her, pushing her back down, she realised who it was. Carson.
He was standing over her now, a concerned expression on his face. He looked good though, in a pair of dark jeans and a Jack Wills hoody. She couldn't help but smile at his God-like appearance.
"I'm so glad you're okay" he blurted out, grabbing her hand and squeezing it.
What was he talking about? Why wouldn't she be okay?
Then it came to her. Arguing in the hallway. Feeling nauseous and falling. Clutching her stomach as everything went black. HER BABY
"What...what happened? Is everything okay?" she asked urgently avoiding his gaze. She couldn't bear to ask him if her...their baby had died.
He understood what she was asking instantly. "Your baby is fine. The school nurse told me to bring you home" he mumbled.
The way he said 'your baby' made her stomach turn. She had been right all along; he didn't want anything to do with this baby. Or her. A tear fell down her cheek and she turned away from him, facing the wall.
"I'm sorry Alexa, but I don't want anything to do with it or you" he spat, the concern in his voice disappearing, "I've got my football career to think about. I don't want this"
"Baby. It's a baby Carson. Our baby" Alexa cried, rolling back over to face him.
He was running his hand through his hair and she couldn't read his face.
"It's nothing to me. Nothing" he sneered backing away towards her bedroom door, "You thought you could trap me by getting pregnant but you haven't. Get this into your desperate little head. I DON'T WANT YOU. NOT THEN AND DEFINITELY NOT NOW. I told you, I DON’T DO RELATIONSHIPS!"
He yanked the door open and stormed out it, not even glancing back as Alexa collapsed into sobs as she realised she was all alone. She was a pregnant sixteen year old and the father wanted nothing to do with her
She was all alone in this and as she closed her eyes tiredly she couldn't help but wonder who had spilled the beans about her pregnancy? Whoever they were she hated them right now. Maybe if she'd had the chance to tell Carson herself things might have turned out differently. She guessed she'd never know now.
The only thing she knew right now was that her life that had once seemed perfect now seemed to be spiraling out of control at full-speed and there was nothing she could do to stop it.
