"What do you mean you have to take off?"

Neveah sighed and sat down, straightening out her apron. She worked at a small bakery that was located on a busy street in San Francisco, California.

"My friends wanted to hang out with me at some party. It's stupid, I know. I just wanted to see if I could take Friday off. If not, it's fine," she said, looking at her boss.

Her boss sighed. "It's not fine. You're our best worker here, and you know that we are busy on Fridays..."

Neveah sighed and looked down. She really didn't feel like hearing Riley talk about how she chose work over her friends.

"I'll tell you what..." Her boss said, sighing. "You can clock out two hours early from your original time. So that way, you can spend the rest of the night with your friends. How does that sound?"

Neveah looked up and smiled. She reached over and pulled her boss into a hug. "Thank you, so much. I promise, I will stay extra late today and help you out with the shop."

Her boss shook his head. "You don't have to, Neveah."

"But I want to. It's fine. I have nothing to do tonight, anyway."

It's been at least five hours since Neveah and her boss have sat down and talked. All this time, she has been taking orders and making coffee for people. She didn't mind doing things, but at this point, she was truly tired.

The bell rung, signaling that someone had just entered the shop. Neveah got up and rushed to the cash register, preparing herself to take someone else's order.

"Hello! Welcome to Harvey's Coffee Shop, would you like to try our special?" Neveah said, looking up.

Her smiled faded and her eyes widened. She continued to stare at the boy in front of her. "Kian?" She said, smiling again.

The boy looked up from his wallet and smiled, looking at the beautiful girl in front of him. He thought she was beautiful with her hair pulled up into a messy bun while the stray baby hairs would sway from left to right because of the ceiling fan.

"Hey, I didn't know you worked here," he said, staring at her.

Neveah smiled and looked down, trying to hide the fact that her cheeks we're actually starting to get red.

"Can I get a caramel frappe with whip cream on top, please?" He said, getting a $10 bill out of his wallet.

"Yeah, sure. Is it for here or to go?"

"For here," Kian said, looking outside. "I think my friends can sit there for a while. When is your break?"

Neveah smiled. "It's actually in a couple of minutes. Let me go make your frappe, and then I'll come and sit down with you."

Kian smiled and nodded, handing her his money. After getting his change back, he sat down at a table with only two chairs to it.

Neveah looked over and smiled at him. She couldn't believe it. She didn't know if God was on her side today, or if it was just luck. She never thought that Kian would be in San Francisco.

After making his frappe, she walked to the table where he was and sat down across from him.

"Here you go," she said, handing him the caramel filled goodness.

He smiled at her and took the large cup, putting a straw into the circular opening.

"So, how long have you been working here?" Kian asked.

Neveah leaned on the table, crossing her arms in front of her. "I've been working here for 3 years. I started when I was 17. I graduated early so I went to college for some time, and it wasn't for me. But I decided to stay in school because I wanted to become a cardiologist. But I forgot about that dream and I'm about to graduate from college, and now I want to be a photographer."

Kian nodded. "What made you want to be a photographer?"

"I love nature and art. I love capturing memories and any piece of art I can find. It's so calming and beautiful too. I don't know, I like to think I'm pretty good at it but one of my friends don't agree. I don't know."

"Well, I have a friend named Vitaly. I think you guys can teach each other a few things."

"I think I'll like that," Neveah said, blushing.

Kian looked at Neveah and smiled. He couldn't believe how smart she was. She even graduated early and went to college. That was more than he ever did.

Neveah looked at the clock that was on the wall, and sighed. "I'm sorry, Kian. My break is about to be over."

Kian sighed and stood up, stretching out his limbs. His shirt rode up, causing Neveah to see his lower stomach as his jeans hung low on his hips. Neveah smiled and glanced down, blushing at the sight in front of her.

Kian took another sip of his frappe and offered the rest to Neveah. "You want the rest so it won't go to waste?"

Neveah was hesitant. She didn't want to sound greedy or anything but she hasn't eaten anything since this morning. And that was only a chocolate muffin.

"Look, I know you really want it. Just take it, babe," Kian said, handing it to her.

Neveah's eyes widened, and she immediately blushed. Did he just call her babe?

Neveah shook her head, hoping her cheeks would calm down a little. She looked at the frappe and took it, taking a sip of the caramal drink.

Neveah moaned, closing her eyes and taking another sip. "This is so good. My coffee skills are on point."

Kian's eyes widened and shifted, looking uncomfortable. He couldn't lie, that moan was really sexy. Even if it was just from a frappe.

Neveah stood up and sighed. "Well, I guess I'll talk to you later, Kian. I gotta get back to work."

Kian nodded, wrapping his arms around Neveah's waist. He sighed, and placed a little peck onto her shoulder and nuzzled his head into her neck. "I'm gonna miss you, Neveah. Until next time."

Neveah smiled, and nuzzled her face into Kian's neck after giving him a kiss in the cheek. "Bye, Kian. Until next time."

Kian smiled and backedup. He gave her a little smile before walking off, leaving the small bakery.
