Chapter 3 - Broken Bones

Chapter 3 - Broken Bones

  We were on our way to the hospital when I nearly broke down in tears. My arm was hurting so badly. Uggh. Why did I have to hit him. Why did he have to come back. Why did I have to meet him.

"Bella, are you ok? How bad does your arm hurt?" Jake asked me, his voice full of concern, when we pulled up to the ER. I was so glad that I knew him, he was so sweet.

"Yeah, Jake, I'm fine. It's just that I'm in alot of pain."  I said to him as he was getting the door for me.

"If you would've stayed at my house this wouldn't of happened. Man, I hate that stupid leech. Why did he decide to come back after all these years. I was finaly starting to think we were in the clear of vampires." He said in a dark voice.

"Well. He kinda said that Alice saw Victoria coming back with an army to kill me as revenge fo Edward killing James. She said like a mate for a mate, but we aren't together. He left me so I don't know why he would want to come back after leaving me to try and protect me if I mean nothing to him." I said in a hard voice.

I was terrified that Victoria was coming back to get me. I did feel a little better that I had the pack to look after and protect me though. I knew Jake would never let her hurt me.

"Oh, Honey. Don't worry. She won't touch you. I would never allow that. I won't leave your side untill that bloodsucker is destroyed. Why don't you stay at my place from now on, that way we will always be near the pack in case of an emergancy. I'm sure Charlie will be fine with it since we are engaged now. What do you think of that idea?" He said sure of what he was saying.

"Alright, thats a great idea. Can we go get my arm checked now?" I asked a little impatiently.

"Sure lets go."  He held my good hand and we went inside. I hope that it isn't a bad break or fracture or whatever I did to it. I don't like having a cast or a brace on for long.

We walked over to the receptionist and she smiled at us. She looked about 70 and she was wearing a black blouse and jeans. Her hair was light brown and she had an olive tone to her skin. She looked really tired and kept glancing at the clock. I guess her shift is going to be over soon. 

"Hello, my name is Nancy. How may I help you this morning?" she asked in a sweet voice.

Jake spoke before I could. "We need to get an exray for my fianceé's arm. She hit it really hard against the black top when she was walking and we heard a crunch." 

"Oh dear. I will get you to a doctor as quickly as possible." She looked at me. "Now, What is your name and where do you live?"

"Bella Swan, and I live at 1547 Rocktail Road." I told her fastly since I just wanted to get my arm looked at as soon as possible.

"Okey-dokey. You can follow Mary, over there. She will take you to your room." She said as she went back to work.

"Thanks" We went over to the nurse that we assumed was Mary and she told us "Follow me." She looked about 30 and had blonde hair.
