Voldemort. That name alone sends shivers down every wizard/witches spines. Even his fellow death eaters are absolutely terrified of him. When the first war was over, all the death eaters who managed to avoid Azkaban retreated, in an attempt to either move forward, or bring the Dark Lord back. Sadly your family was dragged into all his mess - yours and Draco's..

Your POV. 11th birthday.

"Cmon' sweetie, time to get up." Your sleep gets interrupted by your mother tapping your feet at the end of the bed.

"Mhmm..." You murmur into your pillow, it's early and you know it.

"Y/N, it's 10:00 o'clock, get up." Her voice turns stern and that's a sign that you should obey.

You're parents are extremely strict. A rich pure blood family. A name they have to keep in tact. You know you have a reputation you have to maintain, but it's difficult when you're nothing like the other pure blood wizard families. Most of them are cruel, and it's rare that you stumble across a pure blood that is genuinely friendly.

"Okay mother.." You say murmuring as you rise from the bed.

"Oh, Y/N, Happy birthday" She says with a small smile. Barely even noticeable.

She left and you took that as your Que to go down and accompany your parents with breakfast. Slipping on your muggle gown and slippers, you make your way down the stairs and into the very modern looking kitchen to see a few presents laid out on one of the islands. All of which you probably knew were clothes. But your eye catches onto something else and you know exactly what this vintage looking letter is.

"Mother, Father, does that happen to be my Hogwarts letter?" You ask polity.

"Yes dear. You can open it once you have finished eating." Normally you aren't keen on eating when you wake up, as it makes you feel a bit nauseous, you don't know why but you assumed it's because your body is still processing the fact that you left your comfortable bed. But today on the other hand, you scoffed all your food down, not wanting to leave a single crumb.

Your mother chuckled lightly and handed you the letter from your school. You then read the supplies you need and feel a rush of excitement.

"Are we going to Diagon Alley?" You asked. You've always wanted to go, and heard that it's an amazing place.

"You and your father and going to get your wand, and I'll pick up the rest of your supplies. Go get dressed Y/N, we are leaving in 15 minutes." You didn't hesitate to leave the dining room and go back up stairs. You pick out a plain outfit, not needing to impress anyone. Once your down you head back downstairs to find that your parents have already sorted out the floo network and are in the fireplace waiting for you.

"Diagon Alley!" You all state at once in clear, loud tones.

---------

"I'll see you both later, I've got to get a few things she needs for tomorrow." Your mother states.

Your father turns his attention to you and places a hand on your shoulder. "Ready to get your wand, kiddo?"

"Yes father." You walk down the streets of Diagon Alley until you finally stop at Olivanders Wand shop. The store is deserted but you prefer it this way.

Suddenly an aging man appears from around the corner.

"Ahh, the Y/L's, It's been a while since I've seen you lot here." He says in a cheerful way. This guy is clearly happy.

"Just a wand for Y/N here." You hear your Father announce. You have never been so excited in your life, as you have a waited a long time for this. You have only ever read about Hogwarts since your parents never wanted to talk about it.

"Oh yes of course, one moment." He disappears around the corner once more and returns a few seconds later with a tacky cardboard box that contained a wand in it.

"Give it a good old flick." He says.

You pick up the sheer black wand and feel nothing. Turning towards the window so you don't ruin anything, you flick the wand, only for the window to shatter into pieces.

"Nope!" Olivander screeches as he takes the wand off you and puts it back in it's original spot. Returning a minute later with yet another ruined cardboard box.

"Here, try this." He encourages. You don't hesitate to grab the new wand and turn to face the shelf, giving it yet another flick of the wrist, but to result in the shelves falling. You quickly place the wand back in it's box.

Olivander suddenly spaces out.

"Maybe...." He mumbles to himself before quickly rushing around the corner.

You glance at your dad with a raised eyebrow. Starting to feel a bit distraught since you cant find yourself a wand. You think to yourself that maybe you aren't meant to be a witch after all. But your father only offers you a small reassuring smile.

Olivander returns with a box. Not just like the tacky cardboard boxes all the other wands are in. This looks like it's black velvet with a gold emblem on it. You look up at Olivander not knowing whether you should touch this, as it looks far to unique for you to go near it.

"Well go on, grab it out and try it." He pushes.

You pick up the silky silver wand and instantly feel a warmth of power surge through you. Suddenly a small beam of green light shines from the tip of the wand.

"Ahh, yes, the forest wand seemed to have chosen you Miss Y/L."

"The forest wand..?" Being very curious about what is so special about this certain wand in your hand.

But before he could answer, he gets interrupted by the sound of a bell, indicating that someone else had walked into the store. The people who walked in are very infamous in the wizarding world. The Malfoys.

"Lucius!" Your father greets. Clearly they are pretty close.

You notice the boy around your age standing next to his father but he doesn't say anything. He glances at you once then goes back to looking at his shoes or looking around the shop. You sigh and think nothing of his rudeness.

Your father eventually finishes his conversation with his friend and pays for your wand. As you leave the shop you squeal a little, knowing that tomorrow you will be boarding the train to go to the best school for witches and wizards.
