The dining hall is loud and full of excitement while everyone is feasting. It's the end of the year, the last dinner where the announcement of the winning house will be made. After taking part in Ginnys rescue you got 50 points. Although that is nothing compared to the trio getting 150 points in total.
You glance over at the other Slytherins and notice them all chatting away, laughing and enjoying their food. It's hard for you to actually eat anything after what the Dark Lord said to you in the chamber. Your mind is filled with questions and confusion about the death of your parents, your wand and your future.
Your thoughts were interrupted however with a tap on your leg. Looking next to you, you see Draco giving you a questioning look.
"What's going on Y/N? You've hardly said anything to me in 2 days." His voice holds a slight bit on concern.
"I'll tel you when we get back to the common room." You didn't want anyone to know what Tom Riddle had said to you. But you felt like you could confide in Draco. He cares about you, and you know that.
Draco gives you one last look of concern before carrying on eating his food. The ding of a cup fills up the hall, and you see Professor Dumbledore standing with his glass. His usual happy gleam in his eyes as he looks over the students.
"It is now time to see which house has the most house points, to who will win the house cup this year!" Excitement evident as he speaks. "While this year has had its fair share off awful events, it has also been a year of success." He trails on, giving his small speech.
"The winner of the house cup, goes to...... Slytherin!"
Your whole table erupts in cheers and joy. Last year Harry and his friends managed to win for their house, but this year you couldn't help but take a little pride in knowing you are some of the reason your house won. The tension finally leaves your body, and you are able to feel a sense of relief. Peeking over to the white headed boy next to you, you notice he has a massive smile of his face and you can't help but to smile with him.
Eventually the feast is over, and everyone starts heading back to their common room for the last night stay before going back home.
Home. What home? Never thought i'd be staying at Hogwarts while everyone else is going home...
You sigh as you enter the Slytherin common room, meeting all the other fellow students there. All happy and excited about how well this year went for them. You hear footsteps approach you and you glance up to see Draco giving you a small smile.
"This year is finally over" He sighs, "It's been a hell of a year. I'm sorry for all the awful things that have happened to you".
You can't help but feel reassured. Draco has a vibe that you can't explain. He's so calm and calculated, that is bring nothing but zen to everyone around.
"Thank you Draco. It means a lot. And thank you for being my friend." You reply truthfully. You are so greatful of him coming into your life.
"No thank you!" He chuckles, "Pansy isn't talking to me finally!"
You can't help but giggle with him. Pansy was annoying and clingy, and anyone could see how miserable Draco was with her. You wonder why he even bothered.
"Are you staying here at Hogwarts?" His voice breaks your thoughts about Parkinson.
"Yeah, i'll be alright though. Might even have a conversation with Potter". You cringe. Ew.
"Yeah right, you wouldn't step in a mile radius of the half breed." He erupts into a fit of laughter before calming down. "You said you'd talk to be about something?"
