Isai's POV
Next morning I woke up quite early after a peaceful sleep. Normally I don't like to wake up this early, but I had a flight to catch. So I got ready fast and went outside to check on Cheran. I switched on the living room light. He was still sleeping with a slight snore. I saw that he had applied Thiruneer in his forehead as well. It ignited the prankster in me. I kneeled down next to the couch and whispered in his ear. "Cheran, wake up. I have come to eat you. Get up and offer yourself to me." Before I could go on, he interrupted my theatrics. "Even in my deepest sleep, I can identify your voice Kannu."
He slightly turned towards me with a smile. "Why did you wake up this early? I am sure the pilot of your flight might be still sleeping."
"This is no time to joke. Please wake up and get ready ma."
He checked the time in his mobile. "The alarm which I had set last night will ring after fifteen minutes. We can reach airport on time if we can leave in another half an hour. So for the next fifteen minutes, I have a punishment for you."
"Punishment for me????"
He sat down on the cozy couch and said, "Sit on the couch." I got up from the floor and sat on the couch. As soon as I sat on the couch he rested his head on my lap and stretched his legs. He said, "Wake me up after fifteen minutes." He had closed his eyes. I gently ran my fingers through his hair. I think he enjoyed my touch because he was smiling.
He spoke in his low and sexy voice with his eyes still closed, "Do you really have to leave today Kannu? Can you stay for one more day?"
"No ma. Long back my Amma had taught me to never fall for a man's charms even if he is irresistible."
He opened his eyes and laughed, "Your Amma herself might have fallen for your Appa's charms. That's how you must have been born."
"Yeah, but I was born after their marriage."
"Just wait for few more days. Then we will also get married and you will be falling like crazy for my charms."
I recited a Kamban's verse, 'Theda arunalatha punal' (Verse 1161, Baala Kaandam, Kamba Ramayanam). It means, 'Just the way people who are thirsty get disappointed after looking at a water tank with no steps to reach it, Seetha who is like a Cuckoo wearing gold bangles gets disappointed because of her yearning for Ram.' (When Seetha meets Ram a day before their marriage she is disappointed that even though she is very near to Ram and she wants him, she can't consummate with him because the marriage rites aren't over yet.)
He blushed, actually blushed a lot and sang a verse from Bharathiyaar's poem, "Saathiram pesugiray Kannamma."
(You talk of tradition - Kannamma, (Tradition here is marriage rites and rituals)
For those in a passion, is tradition a hurdle?
Our wedding shall happen later as per our elders wish,
Can I wait till then? Let me kiss you on the cheek).
With that he slightly lifted his head and kissed my cheek. Wow, I think now it's my turn to blush. I smiled and said, "That was beautiful ma."
He took my hand which I had kept on his chest and kissed the back of it. He then intertwined our fingers and cuddled. I think he was trying to hide his blushing face from me.
I continued to run my fingers through his hair. He had cut his hair very short in the sides and back and short on top. I could touch his cold scalp. Most Tamilian men are blessed with wavy hair. Few guys have rough hair but most have a little soft hair but not silky. Cheran's hair was a little soft.
