Hermione watched Snape

Hermione watched Snape. He was staring at a point on his table, looking confused, for something like half an hour now. She shifted in her seat.  "P-Professor?" Hermione finally asked.

He didn't say anything, nor did he even acknowledge that he had heard her. "Professor Snape?" No answer. Hermione tried Legilimency but that didn't work — of course it wouldn't work, she thought, he is a professional.

She inhaled deeply. "Severus?" She glanced at him and waited. Still no respons.

Just when she started to leave the room, she heard his cold voice, saying: "Miss Granger.." Hermione stared in his eyes, shocked. How did he know her real name?

"It is Miss Brown," she told him.

"Miss Granger."

He said it again! "My name is Miss Brown!" Hermione hissed.

"Your are Hermione Granger, and you know that." He groaned, and mumbled something like: "Such an insufferable know-it-all.." and "Salazar's beard."

Hermione looked in his eyes, again. She was getting irritated. "I am Miss Brown!" she yelled. Snape stared at her. Then he saw her button from Gryffindor and smirked.

"Ten points from Gryffindor," Hermione looked at him like she wanted to kill him, "for yelling at a teacher," he continued.

Hermione gave him an icy look. She tilted her head, looked him right in his eyes and said: "Ten points from Slytherin, for calling me an insufferable know-it-all."

She smiled and with that Hermione turned around and swiped her orange hair is his face, leaving a shocked Snape behind her.

She smirked. He hadn't known she could do that. When she reached the door she heard him awkwardly clear his throat. She stopped walking and smiled innocently. "Yes?" she asked.

"Uh. I..." She started walking again. "Detention," he said.

She rolled her eyes. "Whatev." She looked over her shoulder.

His mouth hang open. He looked totally shocked. Clearly this never happened before.

She chuckled. He recovered quickly, but his eyes were still widened. "To my office. Now." He started walking. Hermione sighed, but followed him.

When they reached the dungeons she rilled. It was so cold. She was dressed for the warm weather outside, but here it was zero degrees. She quickly covered her naked belly before she would freeze everywhere. She hit her leather jacket even tighter against her body and looked at Snape. He didn't look like he even had the slightest problems with the cold, and stepped into his office.

She looked around. Everywhere she could see she saw disgusting dead animals in pots and plants on shelves, books, black, and candles, who spread creepy shadows through the room. "Sit. Down." Snape commanded. She did what he said, still looking around. Snape sat down at his desk. He bound his fingers in each other. He didn't look at her.

"Explain," he said without any emotion. Now he looked up at her, but with an expression that was so dangerous, she'd better do what he wanted her to. If she wouldn't answer, she had a huge problem. Now she was getting scared.

I changed into Alice Brown after the war so nobody should recognize me, and then he knows who I am! Only Ginny, Harry and Ron know it, but they wouldn't tell it to anyone. Well, maybe Ron, if Snape threated him. But that's far-fetched, even for Snape. So how did he do it? My hair is orange, my eyes are green, I'm brutal and my style totally changed!

"Well, it seems that I was right." Snape looked at her triumphantly. Damn! He had readed her thoughts. She told herself to block her thoughts when Snape was in her area.

"How..How do you know it?" Hermione asked confused.

He inhaled and looked at her hair, as if fascinated with it. "Well, I'm still your Potion Master. And no one is such an insufferable know-it-all as you, Miss Granger."

Snape sighed. "I don't like to admit, but you're also one of the most clever students Hogwarts has ever met..," Hermione looked up and blushed. "You have even found a way to save.." He stopped a moment.

"To save me, from the dead... And that's something no one ever has succeeded."

Now Snape blushed. Merlin! Hermione thought. He blushed! And did he just compliment her?

"I think you already know the answer at that question." Snape looked at her, he wasn't blushing anymore. Now he seemed rather angry than nervous. Hermione blushed again.

"But why would you want that nobody recognizes you? I thought being a heroin was your biggest dream?" Snape asked.

"Uhm..." Hermione murmured.

 "Yesssss?" Snape insisted.

"Well, then you're wrong," Hermione said. Snape frowned questioning. She continued. "I never wanted to be a heroin. I don't like all the attention, and I just have to get some rest. I-I just don't want anyone to know it's me they're talking to. You know, they always talk and talk and talk about how 'great' Hermione Granger is, but...but I don't wanna be famous."

"Is that why you changed yourself into Miss Brown?" Snape asked.

Hermione looked at him. "Yes." She said slowly, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Is that the only reason?" He asked.

Well, there was another reason, but no way she would tell it to him!

"What's that reason?" he asked directly.

"Stop doing that!" Hermione yelled. When she realized she had yelled again, she looked guilty at Snape. Maybe that was the reason he didn't take points from Gryffindor.

Not that that was important, she could place them back in one sentence.

Snape stared at her, waiting for her answer. But she wasn't going to tell him. When Snape understood that, he said: "But this all doesn't explain why you can take and give points."

Hermione looked triumphantly at him. "Because I saved you."

Snape looked shocked. "No..." He whispered.

"Yes." Hermione said, smiling.

"Professor McGonagall gave Hermione the powers to give and take points, because she saved 'dear Severus'. That was just before I 'disappeared'." Snape looked at her in disbelief. "So, I can say it's all your...fault." She still smiled.

It was irritating him to no end.

"Stop smiling, it's not funny!" he snapped.

"Of course, sir," Hermione said laughing.

"Then why do you laugh!"

"I'm sorry, sir." She tried to hide her smile, not successful. Snape stared at her, the irritation almost exploding of his face. "Sorry." Hermione murmured guilty, but still giggling.

Snape growled. She finally stopped giggling. "May I... May I go?" Hermione asked. "I have to go to Transfiguration." Snape stared at her. There was silence for a while.

Then he finally spoke. "You said you won't appreciate if I tell this to anyone, so I won't. Now you may go, Miss Granger." Hermione rolled her eyes when he said 'Granger' and left his office.

She didn't see someone in a corridor staring after her, until she was out of his sight.
