When they reached the painting of the Fat Lady, the chubby woman smiled. "Hello my dear! How's Severus doing?" Hermione gave her a 'NO!-don't-say'-look and the Lady clasped her hand over her mouth. Then she nodded and laughed awkwardly. "Sorry, daaarrrlingg. Password?"
A confused but accepting Harry gave her the password and they entered. Ron wasn't there -she sighed happily. The two walked into the boys' dorm and the first thing they saw was that Ron still lay in his bed.
He snored hard and turned around, bumping into the wood of his bed. His eyes shot open. "I'm awake! I'm awake!"
Harry laughed and walked over to him. "Uhhuh. Now Mr. Whole Day Sleeper, I suppose you get out of your bed. You slept through breakfast. So if you uhh wanna eat.."
Ron turned around, dropped out of bed and cursed. He kicked the bed, and cursed again out of pain.
Hermione rolled her eyes and turned to Harry, frowning. "Does that mean that you wanna go to the kitchen? Because I don't like that idea and you know it! The house-elves -"
"like to prepare food, Hermione! They love to serve people!" said Ron.
"Hmpf. You just want to eat, Ronald!"
He started to get dressed. "Duh! But they don't care! It's their job for Merlin's sake!"
"But they don't even get paid!"
"Guys!" screamed Harry. "Shut up, please?"
Ron appeared, fully clothed, and smiled at Harry. They hastily walked to the kitchen, Hermione still protesting. They tickled the pear, and entered the kitchen.
The house-elves were busy who-knows-what and she quickly walked over to one who was currently preparing.. something in a magical blender. She smiled at the house-elf. She wore a yellow-colored thing, the same rag as Dobby wore before he was free.
"Hi there, what's your name?" she asked friendly. She saw Ron and Harry roll their eyes in the background.
The house-elf looked at her with big brown eyes. "Missy, Miss. Missy's name is Missy."
Hermione smiled. "My name is.." She hesitated. They were only house-elves, right? Uhm..
"Hermione Granger. Can I help you, Missy?"
The elf stopped in their tracks, just like the others in the kitchen. An elf who was feeding Ron cookies, dropped them.
They all surrounded Hermione, who suddenly felt scared. "Hermione Granger?" they all asked.
Hermione looked at Harry and Ron, panicked. They also seemed not to know what to do and Ron, INSUFFERABLE PIG THAT HE WAS, continued eating the cookies.
"Y-yes? That's me..?" she said weakly.
Missy walked over to her and motioned for her to sit down. She did, and the female house elf climbed on her lap, her small fingers trailing her face. Her disguise disappeared and the elves gasped. Missy smiled. "Miss Hermione Granger! Missy and the other elves are happy to hear that you're back!"
The house-elves all nodded, but then Missy frowned. "But, Missy must kindly ask Hermione Granger to stop hiding pieces of clothing in her common room. Missy even believes we have already asked you that." Hermione blushed nervously.
Ron spat out his cookie. "You're still doing that!?"
"Oh shut up Ronald." She smiled - forced - at Missy. "Sorry, I'll..I'll stop. Can I help?"
Missy shook her head abruptly. "No! No no no no no! Miss Hermione Granger saved us all, you must not help!" She hurried away, just like the rest of the elves, and started making some things to eat.
Soon, the whole kitchen was filled with delicious smells, and Ron quickly walked over to the food. He tasted the dough of something and moaned. "This s yum! 'Ery goood!"
Hermione rolled her eyes. "Please, we only want breakfast."
The elves stopped for a moment and then three of them stepped forwards, each carrying a plate. Hermione and Harry thanked them, and Ron just grabbed it out of the poor creature's arms.
They finished eating (in silence, because all the elves stared at them and that was sorta creepy), and started to head to the exit, Missy following them.
"Does Miss Hermione Granger want to put the weird orange hair on again?" Missy asked.
Hermione's eyes went wide and she smiled at the elf. "Oh thank you!"
The elf waved her hand and Alice Brown stood before them again. "And uhm..I'd like it if you don't tell this to anyone, okay? 'I've never been here'." The elves frowned and murmured to each other.
"But you are standing here right now, Hermione Granger?"
Hermione smiled and shook her head. "Never mind. Goodbye!"
The elves waved at them and the Trio left the kitchen.
