"Hermione!"
Harry hit the newspaper down on the table. "You've been seen! And where the hell is this all about?"
Hermione, now again as Alice, sighed. "Harry, I can't help that fact: the spells I use on myself to change in Alice have a time limit from 2 hours."
Ron joined them. " 'Mione you know you've been seen, right?" She sighed. "Yes, Ronald, thank you, but I already know that."
Ron whispered something in Harry's ear. " 'Mione..?" Harry asked. "What, Harry?" Harry picked up the Daily Prophet and said:
"Skeeter wrote your piece."
Hermione eyes grew wide. "What?" She blurred out. She looked at the newspaper. The headline was: 'Hermione Granger spotted'.
"Listen." Ron said. Harry inhaled deeply before he began to read.
"Hermione Granger, the Golden Princess and war heroine, is seen in Hogwarts. A staff member saw her in Snape's office. Severus Snape is a famous hero and an ex-Death Eater. 'Without him the world would be lost.' Is one of the several quotes about him. Nonsens, if you ask me. He didn't did anything important, but right, to the point. An anonymous source reported to us there was something wrong with Snape. (Just before the moment Granger was spotted.) When the help arrived, however, he turned out to be just firmly on both legs, and Granger was spotted, standing close to Snape. Granger Disapparated before anyone could react. (No one can Apparate or Disapparate in or out Hogwarts.) It seems that the missing Granger has struck a celebrity on the hook, again."
"That bitch." Hermione whispered. Harry continued.
"Confidential sources told us that Granger and Snape are having a close relationship. Snape was unreachable for comment. Read more about this on page 3."
Harry finished. He and Ron waited for Hermione's reaction. When Hermione looked up they spotted anger, mortification, and...triumph?
Hermione inhaled sharply and tried to calm down. Relax, it's just Skeeter, stupid, annoying, Skeeter. Hermione was angry, but she also felt something else, something new. It was a warm feeling. Not unpleasant. It felt good, it made her anger disappear a bit. It made her feel triumphant.
She smiled.
Harry and Ron looked at each other. They knew each other for such a long time they could understand each other without using words. They corresponded with their eyes and their looks said they both didn't seem to understand.
"Chill, boys. It's just Skeeter." Hermione said.
The boys still looked stunned for a few seconds, before putting on a poker face. "Yeah, you're right 'Mione." Harry said. "As always." Ron said grinning.
Hermione raised an eyebrow at that. She knew Harry and Ron hated Skeeter as much as she did.
"Look who's there!" Harry said. Hermione and Ron turned around and saw Snape entering the Great Hall.
He looked pissed of.
He strode to the upper table and sat down. Professor Flitwick began to talk to him, most likely about the Daily Prophet because Snape's face turned more and more angry with every sentence Flitwick said. Finally he turned his head to Flitwick and said something what made him stop talking. Flitwick then turned his attention to McGonagall and started a chat. Snape turned to his food and began to eat.
Hermione saw he was barely eating and that worried her. He already was skinny. She didn't wanted him to become as thin as a ghost! Why did she even care for the mans health?
Ron said something. "What?" Hermione asked, still looking at Snape. She turned her head to Ron. "Who did said that about your 'close relationship' with Snape?"
Hermione stared at the newspaper. She hadn't thought about that. "I don't know." She said honest. "Perhaps Malfoy?" Harry suggested. "Hmmm.." Hermione said. "I'm not sure about that. He really looks like the one who would do that,"
Harry frowned. '-but I don't think he would do that now. I think he cares more about others ever since the war." Hermione explained.
"But he's still the same!" Harry said. "Yeah, but he feels guilty about listening at Snape's door." Hermione said.
"He did that?" Harry asked surprised. "You know you have to tell us everything, 'Mione!"
Hermione smiled and sighed. "It's a long story.."
"We don't care!" Ron yelled.
Ron did really look like a big, fluffy, orange teddy bear.
He was too impulsive for Hermione. That was one of the reasons it didn't worked out between her and Ron.
"Why were you even angry at Snape? We haven't talked to you all day!" Harry said a bit sad.
"Sorry about that guys, I just met Jessica and.." Ron didn't let her finish her sentence. "Who's Jessica?" He asked. "Just start at the beginning, Hermione." Harry said.
"Fine." Hermione said.
When she told her story Harry and Ron didn't interrupt her. "So...You kind of saved Snape's life? Again?" Harry asked after Hermione had finished her story.
"Well, uhmm.. yeah, I think you can see it like that." Hermione said hesitant.
"The way you said it made it really sound like you saved his life, 'Mione." Harry said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Hermione frowned. "Harry, stop it." She commanded. "What makes you think odd things like that?" She asked irritated.
"Nothing..Nothing." Harry said, grinning. Hermione raised her eyebrows, but didn't push further.
She had the feeling someone was looking at her. She looked around, but everybody was eating or chatting. Hermione frowned and started eating. Again, she had the idea that someone was looking at her. She looked around, again, but nobody even looked in her direction. She still felt a pair eyes burning into her head. She looked at the upper table.
Snape was staring at her.
Oh.
There was that odd feeling in her stomach again.
What should she do? Snape was watching her like, like she was the newest version of a broom! She knew that look from Harry and Ron, but she had never saw a professor looking that way. And especially not to a student!
The only thing Hermione could think of was staring back. Staring back into those wonderful, black orbs. They were sooo dark. So beautiful. Hermione found herself that she couldn't look away from that beautiful pair of eyes. But she also didn't want to look away.
Harry and Ron were looking at her with an odd expression she couldn't place, but Hermione didn't saw them looking, or anyone else. She only saw that pair of dark eyes boring into hers. Harry and Ron started whispering, but Hermione didn't caught that. She smiled dizzy.
" 'Mione?" Someone asked worried.
"Hmmm.." She only saw those black eyes, staring into hers.
