Daisy and I had spent the whole afternoon going through our beach wardrobes to pick an outfit that said "I'm Ethan Dolan's girlfriend" and make it seem true.
Since I'd taken the year out from cheerleading I'd lost me abs and had gained a little weight, this meant I didn't feel like wearing a bikini, standing with the rest of the cheerleaders if I wore a bikini I'd look like a potato.
We picked a white lace Bardot crop top with high waisted ripped denim jean shorts and a pair of nude sandals. Underneath I had my black bikini on, because it was a beach bonfire after all. We used sea salt spray to add texture to my natural hair and went for a similar natural make up look.
Daisy was dressed in Jean sorts as well, except her bikini was on show with only a kimono over the top, the boys were picking us up in about half an hour, so we could all arrive together, because couples always arrive together.
The only problem with this party is that Ellie would be there.

The thing with Ellie is that she is the popular cheer captain girl, she dresses perfectly, dates all the popular guys (I mean Ethan and Grayson are the captains of the football team), has rich parents who buy her new cars and holidays whenever she wants. And the problem with that is I can't compete. I mean my parents bought me a car but I share it with Harry and they can afford nice clothes but I don't look like Ellie in them, skinny and toned.
When we were in middle school Ellie, Daisy and I were best friends, we did everything together. In the last year we all tried out for the cheer squad and me and Ellie went head to head for the spot of captain. Which is where everything went wrong, because I got it over Ellie, which she didn't like and then for the rest of our school lives she's hated me. Which got worse when she started dating Ethan. When we started high school Daisy and I made different friends and carried on cheering all while ignoring Ellie, last year I decided that I'd take a break from cheer to focus on my grades which gave Ellie the role of captain. Giving her a power rush and a big head.

At around 6 the boys turned up both in swimming shorts and a shirt, Gray grabbed Daisy by the hand and lead her into the front seat of the car, leaving me and Ethan in the back
"I like your outfit, it's very you" Ethan smiled, although it seemed like he struggled to compliment me
"Thanks Daisy helped me pick it"
"So are you guys ready to turn up the heat in your 'relationship'?" Gray asked with a smirk
"To be honest, I'm not sure this is a good idea anymore" I said, the thought of Ellie making a mockery of me had started to sink in, Ethan shifted uneasily next to me
"Look Pops you'll be fine you have me and them two to back you up if Ellie starts anything" Ethan said like he was reading my mind
"She already hates me for being your friend, she'll want to kill me now" I said looking out the car window
"Well we won't give her the chance" said Gray, who had helped me in the past when it came to Ellie. But this time was different.
When we first fell out it was literally just evil looks and snickers behind my back, but the Ethan situation had meant it was more visible to other people
I turned to look out the window hoping no one would try and talk to me for the rest of the journey, but that wasn't happening.
Ethan now has his hand on my thigh trying to reassure me while Daisy gave me a game plan.
That's how the rest of the car journey was spent, and before I had anymore of a chance to doubt it we were there and Ethan had grabbed my hand to walk down to the bonfire, which was surrounded by people from our high school and the neighbouring towns school, this always used to be my favourite place to meet new guys.
