School was getting easier, it was old news that me and Ethan were dating, meaning we now had a routine set.
We all had different subjects before lunch period so we all met at the table under the main tree, just the four of us and occasionally the odd footballer or cheerleader.
Ellie's group had gradually started to ignore us and everything was starting to become normal again, I'd grown to like holding hands with Ethan and him randomly putting his arms around my waist, for the first time in high school I felt comfortable.
Next week was our schools first football game of the season and I'd be cheering my boys on by the sideline.
It felt great!

Ethan's POV
I LOVE FAKE DATING
Ok I may have got a little excited there, but walking round school with Poppy holding hands and hugging is the best feeling in the world, I used to dread days with Ellie having to follow her and her minions around or having her cringe worthy PDA sessions.
Poppy was so easy going she didn't care if we weren't always together or if we weren't sat exactly next to each other and as long as I could see her it didn't bother me.

Next week is our first football game of the season against a smaller school across the other side of town? we normally beat them, but coach still wants us to train as hard as possible so currently I'm heading to the locker room.
Before I could make it round the corner and into the locker rooms I was stopped by someone
"I know your faking it"
"Faking what Ellie?"
"You and Poppy you're not dating, you'd never lower yours standards that far"
"Oh really? Because I genuinely like Poppy for who she is and not because she's the most popular girl in school"
"Well if you're really dating her why have I never seen you kiss her in public?"
That was it she'd found the one loophole in our plan, we'd never discussed when we'd first kiss so we never had
"Just because we don't do PDA doesn't mean we've never kissed"
"Well I don't believe so here's a deal, if our team wins the game tomorrow I think you should celebrate with a kiss"
She smirked as she turned on her heel and out the main door of school.

"Gray we have a problem"
"For god sake Ethan what's happened this time"
"Ellie said she's figured me and Pops out"
"How's she done that?"
"We've never kissed and if we win the game tomorrow I have to kiss her, bit that I don't want to kiss Pops but like I wanted to do it on my own terms not Ellie's"
"I have a solution but you won't like it Eth.... you have to kiss Pops at the start of the game in front of everyone"
