GAME DAY

Everyone loves game day, the cheerleaders and football team get the whole day of school to make sure we're focused on winning
Currently we're warming up and going through final touches with our half time routine, we've been told that scouts for a college are going to be here tonight but not which college specifically, all the seniors are on edge, those on the team that want scholarships are focusing harder than ever
It's the first big game of the year, against one of our bigger rivals, we beat them easy last year but I have a feeling it'll be harder this time round

I've been watching Ethan and Grayson practicing all morning, often catching their attention and smiling
Me and Daisy have been over the plan again and again it should run so smoothly
Unless he doesn't want this as well
If he rejects me
Leaves me for a laughing stock
In front of the whole school
Daisy has been trying to convince that this will not happen
But seriously he's Ethan Dolan why wouldn't he reject me

As the afternoon rolled around we all start setting up on the field, the cheerleaders set up the refreshment tables and all our gear; like the Pom poms, team flags, mascot area and different things to be handed out to the crowd
Slowly throughout this process the football teams start pre-game training on the field and students fill our stands
It's only a matter of time before the other school's bus pull up and their stands are full as well

"Daisy I'm so nervous"
"It's going to be fine Pops the routine and Ethan, everything is going to work out"
I know she's trying to reassure me but I can't help feeling like a jittery mess
As the band starts to play we get in position to cheer the team onto the field before running to the sideline to let the game begin
It gets to the end of the first half and our team are winning
I get the cheer team into a huddle for our little pep talk
"Ok girls were ready to get out onto that field and put one hell of a show on, we're winning our school doesn't really need hyping up but hey let's get the crowd a little louder anyway" I say with a laugh "we have this routine down so let's kill, ready on three, 1! 2!! 3!!! LET'S SMASH THIS"
In to starting positions we get

We run off the field to the crowd chanting our school chant as loud as possible if the football team weren't already hyped up they sure would be after that
The routine went perfectly and now onto the second half of the game
The half of the game that my nerves weren't focused on cheering
No they were definitely focused on a different thing completely
Ethan

Of course it had to be Ethan that scored the winning goal, who else would it be
It was time I started to make my way towards the winning captain only to see him heading towards me
I started to pick up the pace and as I reached him he picked me up twirling me around
And then I'm pretty sure time stopped...

Ethan's POV
GAME DAY

So game day meant no school day, well technically we were at school just not attending lessons
We spent most of the day getting ready for the game in the gym with the cheer team setting up various things, I mean what could be better than having Poppy in the same room as me all day
We stayed to one side of the gym practicing throws while the cheerleaders went through their half time routine, which was amazing they were going to smash the half time show

After lunch everyone moved onto sorting the field out and practicing the different runs we were going to try and make, it went so quickly that before I knew it the rival team had arrived and we were getting ready to run out onto the field, I knew full well that Poppy would be on the other side of the barrier cheering us on
"Gray, thanks for making me see what I gotta do, not only with Pops but also as my co-captain"
"It's alright bro" he responded with a fist bump
We ran out onto the field and started the game

Half time came round fast and we were winning, the cheerleaders were doing their thang busting out some flips and dance moves, hyping up the crowd even more by the end of the performance the crowd were chanting so loud I'm pretty sure the next state could hear

It was coming up to the final minute and me and Gray were doing our winning play I was heading up to the end of the field where Gray would throw to mean and I'd score the winning touchdown
Guess what it went to plan
The opening game of the season and we won!
I had one thing on my my mind, I turned and headed for the cheerleaders only to see Poppy heading my way already
I started to run pulling my helmet off and picking her up twirling her round
Before I placed her firmly back on the ground placing my hands on her cheeks
"Poppy I have wanted to do this forever, and trust me this is completely real nothing fake about it"
Before she could respond I placed my lips onto hers, waiting for her to kiss me back which she did, taking the hint I made the kiss deeper
