It was the day before the first football game of the year, Daisy and I were walking towards the locker room ready to practice the cheer routine one last time

"What are you going to do?" Daisy asked
"About what?"
"Ethan"
"You know what Daisy I'm going to leave it because a girl like me doesn't belong with a guy like him"
"Poppy! If you like him you have to tell him because I know he'll feel the same way"
"But what if he doesn't?" I said unsure and wary
"Then he's stupid"
"Ok but when?" I asked
"After the game, if they win it'll just make it so much better"
"I don't like this plan but ok"
We headed into the locker room to get changed before heading out onto the field
We didn't warm up with the football team instead we decided to have a bit of fun and do a Zumba work out
Throughout practice Ellie kept herself to herself, but really all I was focused on was the football team training on the other half of the field
I could see Ethan and Grayson stood together, Gray blew a kiss to Daisy, while Ethan smiled and waved at me, I quickly waved back before turning away so he didn't see me upset, it was all fake why would I be upset
Practice went well all the stunts went smoothly and the dance choreography was perfect tomorrow will be great
Every now and again I'd look over to the football team, sometimes I'd see Ethan hard in play, scoring, celebrating or the best times, smiling over already watching me

Ethan's POV
I was walking towards the football locker room when I heard voices, what sounded to be Poppy and Daisy
"What are you going to do?" Daisy obviously asked Poppy
Poppy tried to play dumb but it was obvious they were talking about me
"I'm going to leave it Daisy because a girl like me just doesn't belong with Ethan" it took everything in me to stop from running round the corner and telling her she was wrong
"Poppy if you like him you have to tell him because I know he'll feel the same way!" Daisy tried convincing her
"But what if he doesn't feel the same way?" She tried to fight back
But that was all I needed to hear I went into the locker room and made my plan for tomorrow, if I scored the winning goal I'd run over and celebrate by kissing Poppy who would be on the sidelines and if we lost well she'd be the first place I'd head after the game
While running the warm up laps I told Grayson what I'd heard
Every now and again I'd look over the field to check that the cheer team were still practicing and try and catch a glimpse of Poppy, every time I would smile to make sure we had no bad blood

After practice I got ready as quickly as possible to make sure I was outside by the car for when she walked out of school
"Hey Pops! Do you want a lift home, we're going to stop for ice cream"
"Yeah come on it'll be fun, hey Daisy want to join us?" Grayson said jogging over to the car
"Yeah that would be cool, come on Daisy" Poppy said
They all threw their bags in the trunk and we headed off
No bad blood
