Ethan's POV
So Ellie had won, me and Poppy were no more
I was getting too comfortable it was only a matter of time before I lost her, anyway we were fake dating she had no commitment to me. The deal was supposed to have ended a month ago, Poppy had already got what she wanted - cheerleading captain - so I couldn't stop her from ending it
But now it was all over, I'd never be able to change the fake dating to real dating, I wouldn't be able to kiss her at the next game and make her realise, make her feel.
"So it's true I managed to break her" Ellie smirked from her locker "to be totally honest she put up a good fight it took longer than I'd thought it would" the halls were completely empty school had finished half an hour ago, Poppy hadn't turned up
"You know what Ellie, your petty games have ruined something good, I like Poppy, like really like her, yes we were fake dating but only because I knew you'd somehow try to get us back together if I didn't start dating someone as soon as we broke up! And you know what I want to be with Poppy for real because I've never met anyone who is nicer or sweeter than her" finishing I turned away and headed down the corridor
Turning the corner I bumped straight into Gray "bro if you like Poppy that much you need to tell her"
"so you heard everything? I thought no one else was here"
"Yes and you need to tell Poppy! show her how you really feel"
"And how exactly am I going to do that, if I talk to her she's just going to think I want us to fake date again"
"Then don't explain it to her, SHOW IT TO HER"
Poppy's POV
I may have stopped the fake dating thing with Ethan
But I miss it
I miss Ethan
I miss holding his hand while walking through school
I miss him greeting me with a hug
I miss cuddling him while watching a movie and sitting with his arm around me at lunch
He made me feel comfortable and safe
I played sick this morning when my mum came into to see why I wasn't at breakfast or out of bed, I didn't want to have to go in and see Ellie taunting me, I knew she'd be all over Ethan if I was ever in view
I didn't want to see Ethan look upset when i walked past him or sat on the other side of the room
The last time I'd ignored Ethan for longer than a day was when he got with Ellie
But now, now I think I like him, I don't want to fake date anymore, I want it all to be real and most importantly I want to kiss him
But I knew someone like me does not belong with someone like Ethan Dolan
