I was heading out of school after cheer practice when I felt someone pull on my arm
"Oi Poppy I want to ask you a question"
"What do you want to know Ellie?"
"Why have you and Ethan never kissed yet?" She said with a smirk on her lips
"We have just never in public" I answered and started to walk again, trying to get away fast because I knew that the answer I gave wasn't real enough
"Well I don't think you really are dating like seriously why would he even go for a girl like you" she bit back, laughing towards a gang of friends behind her
I quickly walked out of school and to the twins car out of her sight before I let myself cry

"Woah Pops what's the matter?" Asked Grayson as he rounded the car
"I need to stop this fake dating with Ethan it's just not working"
"Wait no Poppy you can't do that just ignore whatever Ellie has said"
"But I never mentioned Ellie how did you know I was talking about her?"
"Come on who else would you be giving you problems about it other than Ellie?"
"True, hey Gray please can you take me home before Ethan gets out so I have time to think about this before I see him"
"Sure let's go"

I've been sat in my bedroom window seat for the last two hours, I watched as Ethan pulled into his driveway ran into the house grabbed his gym gear and through it into the back seat of his car, swiftly leaving again
I'd needed time to think about the situation I was in and I'd decided through a list of pros and cons that this whole fake dating thing needed to be ended
I grabbed my phone to ask Ethan to meet me
Me: Hey Eth, can you come round to talk?
Ethan 😜: Sure meet you in the treehouse

I'd been sat on the edge of the treehouse with my feet dangling off the side for twenty minutes by the time he showed up
"Hey Poppy what's the matter?" He said as he climbed up the rope ladder
"I don't want to fake date anymore" I kind of blurted out
"Let me guess Ellie spoke to you about the kiss thing as well, look Poppy don't worry I'll sort this out just give me some time"
"No Ethan I want to end it now I can't take it any longer, Ellie was bad enough before and now she's even worse! So I want to stop this we can just say that I was a rebound and then carry on like it never happened"
Ethan tried to protest but I got up and climbed back down the tree walking into my house before he had time to change my mind, which I knew he would do if I stayed with him any longer

Ethan's POV:
"Gray are you home?" I shouted through the house
"Chill bro I'm here, what's the problem?"
"Poppy she's ended it how am I supposed to do the whole kissing thing and showing Ellie she's wrong if we're not even together anymore, even if it was fake"
"That's the thing Eth, you can now show Poppy you actually like her by breaking the fake thing off and kissing her for real at the game, so break up tell people it was fake to annoy Ellie and then actually kiss Poppy and ask her to date properly"
"Gray your a genius"
"Yeah I am to be honest" he laughed as I went to playfully punch him in the arm
"Ok no need to brag"
