Elias POV:

I looked over my shoulder, just to find Jasmine with a tear stained face. Her eyes were glistening with sadness, jealousy, and something else. Love, maybe? A sob escaped her lips, I could hear it even from where I was.

Oh, no... Does she think I'm with Tara?

I quickly glanced back at Tara, earning an understanding look, a look that told me I needed to go after her. Tara didn't know what was going on, I didn't get a chance to tell her, but she understood that this was important to me.

"Jasmine!" I leaped over the bench and ran after Jasmine, hoping that she would listen to me. After all that she's been through, I don't know how she could still trust me. I knew Tara coming here at this time would end in disaster.

Love

Our eyes expressed unspoken words, displaying what we couldn't tell each other. Without another word, Elias grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. I cried on his shoulder, unable to respond.

Elias POV:

She didn't hug back.

I tightened my grip on her, trying to press her closer to me. Her arms hung limply at her side, and it seemed as though she would collapse. Her tears mixed with the rain, and I couldn't stop them. Our soaked clothes clung to our skin, making us shiver with cold.

"Jasmine..." I trailed off as she lifted her face to me. Her loose blond hair dragged down behind her, her bangs dripping water down her face. Her soft, pink lips puckered as she held back a sob, and her blue eyes shimmering with hope. She was stunning.

"Let's get you home." She nodded her head slowly and let me guide her to her house, leaning into me as she looked for warmth.

The scene replayed in my head like it was on a loop. Like it was an...
