The Pearl

One last 'AAAGGAGAAAAAAHHHH' came from Peridot, before she shut her mouth and closed her eyes. What the heck was going on here?

"Great. Now we have to carry more people!" I said. I thought it would lighten up the mood, but it didn't. Pearl looked down at her feet and shook her head. Amethyst unwrapped Peridot from her whip and handed her over to Garnet. Garnet scooped up Peridot and hung her over her shoulder.

"What about Connie?" I said. Garnet said

"Give her." I did as I was told and Garnet put Connie over her other shoulder.

"We have to pick up the pace before another person turns into Peridot or Connie." Pearl said. I nodded and so did Amethyst and Garnet. We picked up the pace,  and started running down the halls.

*time skip*

We were starting to run out of halls and doors to search, until we saw two giant yellow doors down the hallway we were in. We all walked  towards it and was greeted by a yellow Pearl.

"Is Yellow Diamond expecting you?"

"Y-yes." I said nervously.

"Hmmm... state your gem." I gulped.

"Rose Quartz."

"I don't think she's expecting a-" she was poofed by Pearl spear. We all stared at Pearl in surprise.

"She was getting annoying." Pearl gave a smirk towards us.

"Yellow Diamond is behind this door," Garnet said "Get your weapons ready." She then set Connie and Peridot down gently, right next to each other on the wall next to the door.

Amethyst pulled her whip out, Pearl her Spear, Me my shield, and Garnet her Gauntlets.

"What will happen Garnet?" I said. I didn't want to die but I didn't want to leave without Lapis.

"I don't know Steven. The only way we'll know, is if we go in there." I nodded and Pearl put her hand on the keypad and put in the code. I don't know how she knew it, but she knew it.

Moments later, the doors slid open inwards, revealing a large yellow room with long windows and a throne sitting in the middle of it. Yellow Diamond was sitting in the throne surrounded by yellow Pearls at her feet. She hadn't seem to have noticed us yet. One of the yellow Pearls called out

"Someone's here." Yellow Diamond looked up from one of her pearls and said

"Why, hello there!" She actually had a nice tone in her voice.

"You must be the new additions to the zoo." She stood up from her throne and walked over towards us. Every step she made, felt like an earthquake underneath us. She bent down and picked me up, clenching her yellow gloves around me. I dropped my shield in the process. She stood back up and looked at me. I tried moving around but I couldn't. I looked down at the Crystal Gems and they were surrounded by yellow pearls.

"Haha. This one like to squirm." Her voice booming in my ears. The yellow pearls all laughed along with her.

"HEY!"  I said. She stopped laughing and looked at me, her expression growing angry.

" And, who do you think you are?!?!"

"I a-am Steven U-universe and I a-am looking for a Lapis Lazuli. Your Rubies h-have taken her." She laughed.

"Oh yes. The Lapis. You see, little pathetic human, your Lapis is no longer her regular self. She's new and improved."

"What do you mean?"

"She's upgraded. She has a more powerful weapon. She's not innocent anymore. Would you like to see her?"

"Y-yes?" I said.  I didn't really want to see her, but what other choice did I have? I wasn't going to say 'no' to a giant lady who could kill me at any moment.

"Pearl. Bring me the Lapis." One of the pearls walked out from the group surrounding the Crystal Gems and walked over to a closed cage in the corner of the room. I hadn't even noticed that cage, before now. The pearl lifted up the cage and brought it to Yellow Diamond. Yellow Diamond picked up the cage and set it in the palm of her other hand. I noticed Lapis sitting inside.
