monday

I open my locker. I take a deep breath, hearing the voices of Grayson's friends. As long as Grayson is with them, they won't touch me. Thank gosh.

"Fag." One of the guys shoves me into the lockers. My face slams off of the locker next to mine.

I sigh as they all laugh and walk away. I grab my binders and head to first period.

When the bell rings, Mr. Johnson walks in. "Hello students. Happy Monday."

Groans rumble through the classroom.

Mr. Johnson chuckles. "I agree. Anyway, today, we have a new student. Her name is Miss Layla Sinclair."

As if on cue, an unfamiliar girl walks in. "Sorry I'm late."

"Miss Sinclair, today you have a pass. You're new."

"Yep."

"Damn girl, you're fine!" A guy whistles. His friends laugh.

"I'm not a ticket." She replies, walking down the row and takes a seat next to me.

In response, that guy's friends laugh at him.

"That's enough, settle down everyone." Mr. Johnson says. "Let's get started, shall we?"

There's a rumble of groans again.

I glance at the girl, the really pretty girl. She looks at me, smiling. "Do you have an extra pen?"

I nod, kind of staring at her beauty for a minute. Then, handing her the pen in my hand. She smiles. "Thanks."

I nod again.
