"Hey, First Dolan." Layla sits down next to me.

I smile, feeling my cheeks heat up. "H-hi, La-Layla." It takes me a minute to realize how stupid I sound. I face palm. "Idiot." I mutter to myself.

She giggles. "Hey, because I moved. I really behind in this class. Do you mind helping me catch up?"

"Wh-what? R-really?" I stutter again.

Layla smiles. "R-really." She giggles after mocking me. "Don't get offended. I'm just kidding. But yes, I could really use the help."

"Do you just want my notes?"

"Nope." She smiles. Layla grabs a pen and paper, handing it to me. "Write your number down."

I do as I'm told.

"I'll text you my address after school."

The bell rings, and the kids file in. I nod, staring dumbfounded at her.
