I enter my new house. We have it all set up already. "MOM!" I yell unnecessarily, knowing she's in the kitchen.
"What, Layla Grace?" She sighs.
"Mom, can I have a friend over?" I ask, dropping my bag.
"A friend?" She asks, shocked. "Yes. Welcome whoever you want over, sweetheart."
I roll my eyes. "It's a boy, just so you know."
"What's his name?" Mom smiles widely.
"Mom, he's just a friend. I literally just met him yesterday."
"That's not what I asked."
"His name is Ethan. Ethan Dolan."
Mom smiles wider, if that's even possible. "You can have him over. I'll prepare snacks."
I roll my eyes and pick my bag up. "Cool, I'll be in my room."
I do just that, and pull my phone out.
Layla Grace;
You can come over, Ethan.Ethan Grant Dolan;
Um okay
Ethan Grant Dolan;
Layla, I don't know your address...I laugh at how awkward he is, even over the phone.
Layla Grace;
169 Oakland Rd.Ethan Grant Dolan;
Okay. I'll be there in 15.Layla Grace;
Cool! See ya soon! xxAs I'm changing, my phone rings. I tug my shirt on and pick it up, checking the caller ID.
Grayson Bailey Dolan
I slide to answer it. "Bailey?"
He groans. "Ha ha, very funny."
I giggle. "How may I help you, Second Dolan?"
"I was, uh, wondering something..."
"And what may that be?"
I can hear him gulp. "Would you want to go to the, uh, homecoming game next week?"
"Sure. I'll go."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, cool! Thanks."
"Yep."
There's a knock on my door.
"It's open!" I call. Ethan opens the door slowly, standing there awkwardly in the doorway. "Sorry Bailey. Gotta go. Talk to you tomorrow." I hang up without him answering.
"Hi First Dolan."
"H-hi Layla." He says awkwardly.
"You can come in." I roll my eyes playfully.
He clears his throat and steps in.
