I finally got released home. I've been trying to avoid Grayson. He's so angry I didn't tell him about his friends. It's not my fault his choice of friends sucks.
I stretch, still in some pain. I should start working out again. There's a knock on my closed door. I let out a groan. "Doors closed for a reason, Grayson."
The door opens. "It's a good thing I'm not Grayson, and I know how to use a doorknob." Layla says.
I turn around. "What're you doing here?"
"I want to say something."
"What?"
She takes a deep breath. "Alright. I'm not sorry for telling on those boys, Ethan. But I am sorry for not seeing the consequences. I thought they would stop. They needed to be stopped. You don't deserve to be treated like that. And I'm sorry for not letting you tell on them. And I'm sorry for telling Grayson the truth. I hope that you won't stay mad at me forever. Because, Ethan. I like you. Not your brother."
I smile, rubbing the back of my neck. "You...you do?"
"Yes." She walks over to me, cupping my cheeks. And then she kisses me. And I kiss back.
After some time, we're sitting on my roof. "Ethan, you should smile more. It looks good on you."
