Right Side UpRayne
--------------"Shit." Mirror Maxx only uttered a simple curse, stepping back and holding his face. "Someone needs to go after him."
"None of us know the way around here," I replied. "We'll probably just get more lost looking for him."
"Town isn't that big," he said, shaking his head. "I'm sure we can find him easily."
"You should go get the guys, we can explain while we try to find him. We could cover more ground in the van."
"Yeah." he nodded and ran inside the bathroom while I impatiently waited outside, tapping my foot rather hard on the ground. I heard echoing voices from the bathroom, but couldn't make out what they were saying.
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught the sight of someone jogging towards me. When I turned to whoever it was, they slowed their pace, silently pleading for me to stay where I was.
"Hey!" he called quietly once he was in a reasonable distance. "You know that guy that just ran off?"
"Uh..." I slowly nodded, eyeing him over. He had very curly black hair drooped to the side, dark tan skin and brown eyes. He wore a light blue shirt with some white symbol on it resembling tally marks. "Yeah...? He's, um... My, Uh, cousin."
"I could help get him for you. He looked really spooked," the man offered. "This town isn't that big."
"Ah, no!" I protested, shaking my head. "No, not-not necessary. We're gonna go get him after his, um, friends get out of the bathroom."
"One second!" I heard Zach call from the bathroom as he opened the door. "Dan locked himself in a stall and he can't unlock it."
Almost immediately upon seeing Zach, I stepped away from the stranger and hid behind him. "Uh, I dunno who he is, he just walked up to me," I said, pointing at him.
"I was offering to help find your friend," he said with a wavering smile.
Zach didn't answer him. I didn't see his face from where I was standing, but he stepped back, pushing me back along with him.
"Uh, sir?" the stranger asked, tilting his head a little. "Are you alright?"
"Zach?" I stepped to his side and saw his face: mostly surprise.
The door opened, and Cody and Dan stepped out, followed by Mirror Maxx. "Okay, guys-" Cody stopped himself when he saw the stranger, but instead of surprise, he looked angry.
"Hey, do you know this guy?" I asked all of them, barely even comprehending the situation. Why were they acting so weird?
"No fucking way," Dan whispered to the stranger.
"Um, I'm sorry..." the stranger stepped forward. "Have we met?"
Cody lunged at him, and was immediately held back by Mirror Maxx. "Cody, stop!"
"What the fuck are you doing here?!" Cody demanded, struggling against Mirror Maxx's hold on his arms.
"Woah- hey!" the stranger stepped back, looking just as confused as I was. "Hey, I live here!"
"What's going on?!" I asked, looking at Cody and helping Mirror Maxx hold him back. "Cody, calm down-"
"Don't play stupid with me, Austin!" Cody yelled, pulling against both of us. "You know who we are!"
Austin. Wait a second.
"Wait, wait... Austin?" I asked, pulling Cody back when he lunged again. "As in, the Austin that left?"
"Yes, that's him!" Zach explained, turning to Cody and kicking him in the shin. "Dude, cut it out."
"I'm sorry, I think you have the wrong guy." Austin said. "I don't recall ever meeting you people."
"Dammit, hold on. Stay right there, asshole." Cody yanked his arm away from me, and then Mirror Maxx, digging in his pocket. "Hold on, lemme get Maxx."
Me and the other Maxx slowly moved away from him as Cody put the phone to his ear. "Hey, Maxx. Dude- hey calm down...no man, he's right here."
Austin looked at all of us, hands in the air. "What the fuck is going on?" he whispered.
"Dude, get back here. No, I'm not lying! He's literally-"
Zach growled and snatched the phone from him. "Maxx, if you don't get your ass here right now, I will rip your other eye out. Get over here now." he angrily ended the call, tossing Cody his phone back.
"I'm sorry," Austin apologized again, "But I seriously don't know you guys. You have the wrong person."
"Your name is Austin Kerr, isn't it?" Zach demanded slowly, eyeing him with raging eyes.
"Yes, but-"
"Set It Off. Do you know that name?"
"No, I don't!"
"It's your old band!" I interjected. "You, Cody, Dan, Zach and Maxx were in a band called Set It Off! You made music, like punk?"
"Do you at least remember Benji?" Dan hissed.
"Benji- hold on..." Austin composed himself and turned to the park, then back to us. "Can you at least tell me why he tried to kill me?!" he gestured to Cody wildly.
"Because you left us to deal with a dead body!" Cody whisper-yelled. "And we nearly got caught because of you!"
"Hold on, hold on!" Dan sighed, getting our attention. "Look, let's keep our voices down. We can talk this out when Maxx gets back and we all just... I dunno..."
"How do you know Benji?" Austin asked.
"He was our bandmate," Cody growled. "So were you."
Mirror Maxx looked down, fidgeting with his hands. "Um, guys... Can we please calm down...? I'm... Sorry, but it's... I-"
"Maxx is right," Zach said. "Let's just quit being so tense."
"Wait, we're waiting for Maxx to get back, and that's Maxx?"
"There's two of them," Zach answered quickly. "Where is the other one anyway?"
"Coming up now," Mirror Maxx stammered, pointing a shaky finger past Austin to the other Maxx, who was running this way.
"No, no, hold on. Can someone please explain what's going on?"
"Look, we can explain when we're not out in the open, it's a long story."
"Austin!" I heard Maxx call out happily, and then Austin was nearly knocked to the ground from a hug. "Austin, oh my God!"
"Hold the fuck on!" Austin yelled, shock f Maxx off him. "Can someone PLEASE explain what's going on?!"
"Austin, it's-" Zach stopped Maxx before he could start, grabbing his wrist and pulling him back.
"Dude, don't. He doesn't remember us."
"Look, can we talk somewhere else?" Dan asked as Mirror Maxx grabbed onto my hand. I looked up at him to see him crying.
Austin was quiet for several moments before digging in his pocket. "I'll call Benji and tell him we'll have guests. But the second we get there, you better explain everything."
Look i try to avoid drama with Austin and I was and am extremely hesitant to add him as a main character in this story so please don't bring up any Austin drama in the comments I'm begging you
