--------------Wow, this place was huge now. I know we got a lot of room, but damn. Before I knew it, I was lost.
Lost means dead. I don't want to die, so I quickly try to find my way through this repeated forest. Every tree looks the same, it's like somebody just copy and pasted everywhere.
Nothing changes throughout this whole time I'm running. I keep hearing howling in the distance, I keep tripping over roots and slipping in wet leaves. I've lost my glasses by now, and my legs up to my shins are soaked in... Whatever I've been slipping in. Maybe it's water, maybe it's blood, I can't tell in the dark. Cold, icy wind hits me on all sides, I think my lips are going numb.
The howling gets louder and I hear a ringing in my ears, an ever so faint ringing in my ears. I push my feet faster, runrunrunrunrunrun.
This time after a howl, I hear a sniff. They've caught my scent. Fasterfastefaster.
For a second, I regret running away from Dan and Zach. Only a second. Then I remember that they weren't going to do this anyway, someone has to. I'm going to find wherever Maxx left and I'm going to go after them no matter how long it takes me. I'm gonna bring them back and maybe Cody will stop yelling at me then.
Maybe when I bring them back they'll love me. I dunno what love feels like but I know it exists.
I get lost and too caught up in my thoughts and trip hard back over a root, one that I should have easily avoided.
Dogs are getting louder. Howling and barking nonstop. Theyrerightnexttome.
I stay low to the ground, hoping they'll walk right on their merry way, but my face keeps stinging and bothering me. Dontmovedontmove.
I tell myself to not move and I still do.
I can hear their pawsteps, their sniffing and their pawsteps, I hear it all. Fuckfuckfuck.
They're just big dogs. You like dogs just try to be their friend!
Yeah okay be their friend?? More like be their food.
They've stopped. Except for one of them, the bigger one stopped. Right next to me, I'm looking up and I can see its big head. The smaller dog was still crouching and sniffing the ground, I knew he smelled me. His long ratty fur is sticking out every which way, I can't see any feature of his eyes. The bigger one is the size of a house, I swear. She has pitch black fur, short and covered in blood.
My heart is going a million miles a minute, making my breathing more ragged and easier to hear. I know you smell me and I know you hear me why aren't you killing me?
The bigger one bends down, nudging my head. She makes a quick, sharp bark, and I scramble up, staring into her eyes that I barely see through the darkness of this world.
The smaller one nudges my hand, and I jerk it away, too terrified to run away. He nudges it again with his cold nose, and then opens his mouth.
I can barely stifle my screaming as he tears a chunk of flesh out of my arm, leaving it to bleed profusely.
The bigger dog does the same, but to my other arm. She takes a bigger bite, and I scream again, this time running. Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck runrunrunrunrunRUNRUNRUNRUNFASTER
They're chasing me now and they're so much faster than me. Easily, they catch up, and the bigger black dog slams me into a tree, growling lowly. The smaller one growls too but it's less intimidating. My breath is gone, my blurry vision is fading, pain is shooting like lightning throughought my body. Is this where I die?
