Two months since the dogs made it to the Right Side Up. They have been living in the van for that long, and their food pile was getting smaller and smaller. They had made up different plans, still on the road, but every one of them had a fatal flaw.

They were too weak to take on giant dogs.

Rayne was too on-edge to think of a plan. To them, the mirrors were too easily defeated. "No way could it just end up in them getting eaten, something else has to happen."

"Something else has happened," Zach replied, "Now we're being hunted by two massive dogs."

"But-but with the others! There's... something's not right, really. That was way too easy." they crossed their arms and tapped their feet anxiously, looking out the back window.

"You're just anxious," Benji said, looking back at them. "Maybe 'cause you haven't been getting a lotta sleep."

"How can I?" They stressed, grabbing at their hair. It had grown out significantly, almost at their shoulders. "We're being hunted, and I'm like, ninety-nine percent sure the others are still out there..."

"Rayne, you're-"

"It's like the fucking Hunger Games!" they interrupted Mirror Maxx and covered their face. "I... I can't keep staying here, you know! I..." they sighed and leaned their head back. "Nevermind."

"We need to stop and rest for a while," Mirror Maxx said.  "I mean, we can't just stay cramped in this van forever."

"What we need is a plan," Cody said, hands tight on the steering wheel. "Then we can rest."

"What are we supposed to do, get a fucking rocket launcher?" Maxx asked exasperatedly. he wiped his face and sighed.

"We could surprise attack them while they're asleep, or something," Benji said. "Like, sneak attack."

"I don't think they sleep," Mirror Maxx said, looking out the back window. "But maybe if we get a gun and shoot at them from a distance..."

"If..." Rayne started, leaning back forward. "If we just.. injure them... we don't have to kill them, yeah? We just need to get them off our back. If we just find a way to injure them and throw them back to the other place, that'll be fine."

"What if they come back?" Cody asked. "I mean, then we'll just be on the road again. We have to kill 'em if we wanna not worry anymore."

"Well, what if we find a way to stop them from coming back?" Rayne shot back. They seemed almost desperate to come to a compromise. "Like-like we can... We don't kill them, but-but like... I dunno."

"What's with you?" Dan asked, turning in his seat ad meeting Rayne's guilty gaze. "These dogs have been wanting us dead and are hunting us right now, and you don't even bat an eye. What makes you think that we want them anything else than dead?"

"I-I dunno, I just think that we can find a way to get them to stop, and not kill them," They muttered, shrugging. "Nobody had to die, they just.."

Cody laughed at that, swerving a little. "They didn't have to die? What a fucking riot! Rayne, you realize what they would have done if they stayed alive?"

"N-No, but-"

"They would have either killed us, or made us kill ourselves. Trust me, you want them dead." He turned on the radio to end the conversation.

Rayne was about to say something else, but it was clear they were scared and didn't want to anger Cody any more. They curled up and rested against the seat in front of them, sighing angrily, forcing tears to leave.
