PIPER
We started from the top of the show, running every song and scene that we had already blocked. Today, our main focus was on the scenes with Ariel and Eric.
For Kiss the Girl, Mrs. Raylen had Beckett and I sit across from each and run our line while keeping strong eye contact. She wanted us to have such a strong chemistry that even the people in the back row in the auditorium could feel it.
We ran the scene a few times with the song before moving on to One Step Closer. For this scene, we worked with the choreographer to come up with a ballroom dance that we could do. Once we had the dance, Mrs. Raylen wanted us to perform it with the song. Beckett sang sweetly as we gracefully danced across the stage.
"You two are simply amazing," Mrs. Raylen gushed. "The chemistry between you is completely insane." Both Beckett and I blushed before getting back to work.
Soon, the end of rehearsal approached quickly. Just I gathered my stuff to go home with Beckett, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw Catherine, the girl who played Jetsam, standing there.
"Oh hey," I smiled.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go grab some lunch with Emily, Adrianna, and I."
"I'd love to but I didn't drive here," I informed Catherine.
She shook her head, "it's no problem. I can drive you."
I thanked her before quickly going to look for Beckett. When I found him, I let him know that I didn't need a ride before bidding him goodbye. I made my way back to Catherine and followed her out to her car.
"So what's going with you and Beckett," she wiggled her brows after the two us got in her car.
"What do you mean? We're just neighbors."
Catherine groaned and rolled her eyes. "There is no way you guys are just neighbors. The chemistry that you have with him in every single scene is so strong that not even the best actors can pull that off."
I shrugged, "well I guess I'm just a really good actor."
She chuckled and pulled into the parking lot of a local cafe. We climbed out of the vehicle and strolled inside. Catherine led me to a table where Emily and Adrianna were waiting.
"Hey guys, you made it!" Adrianna smiled widely.
"Yeah sorry we're late. Piper had to kiss Beckett goodbye," Catherine joked, nudging my arm.
"Are you guys actually together?" Emily questioned. I shook my head and her face dropped. "Honestly, you should date him. Like how cute would that be?"
Adrianna chimed in, "plus he's good looking and not an asshole." The other girls agreed with her but in my head I thought about the night he almost dropped the show to salvage his reputation.
"Do you at least have feelings for him?" Catherine asked me. I blushed profusely. "Oh my god, you do!" she cheered.
I shushed her and leaned in closer to the other three girls. "A little bit but you can't say anything about it to anyone."
