BECKETT

Piper hadn't spoken to me since the party and it's been almost two weeks. She avoided me at rehearsal, ignored me whenever I texted her, and sent me straight to voicemail whenever I tried to call. I still had no idea what I did to hurt her and it killed me. I hated the fact that I caused her pain when I promised to always protect her.

I rushed to my history class, in hopes that I would get a chance to talk to Piper before Gabrielle and her friends showed up.

When I got there, I saw Piper sitting at her desk with her earbuds in, doing something on her phone. Just as I was about to approach her desk, I heard an obnoxious cackle come from the hallway and knew that I had missed my chance. Gabrielle strolled in, her posse following close behind as they took their seats around my own. Throughout class, I solely paid attention to the lecture, taking diligent notes in my notebook.

At the end of class, I packed up quickly and rushed out of the room to wait for Piper. When she finally came out of the room, I immediately scrambled to her side. "Hey, what's been going on with you? You haven't talked to me in almost two weeks."

"Maybe it's for a good reason, Beckett. Did that thought ever cross your mind?" she snapped at me. Even though she was clearly angry with me, it was still soothing to hear her voice.

"That's just the thing, I have no clue what I did! I don't know the reason you randomly stopped talking to me, all I know is that I miss you. I miss us."

She scoffed and almost burst into laughter. "Really?" she crossed her arms and raised her eyebrow. "You didn't seem to miss me or us when you made out with Gabrielle at the party."

Before I had a chance to process what she had just said and respond, she had already disappeared into the crowd of students rushing to their next class. Sighing in defeat, I briskly walked to my english class before I was late.

I made it there just in time. My teacher droned on and on about the lesson but I couldn't focus. Discreetly, I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked through my contacts.

When I found the person I was looking from, I selected their contact and typed a new message.
