On this long and broken road
that we call life,
I am stricken down by you
once again.
You spit words in my face
sinking in as poison
like venom in my veins.
They are now cut open wide,
because of you.
I'm on my hands and knees,
just about to rise,
and you start the process
again, ripping me apart.
I fall to the ground,
again, bleeding
waiting for the next blow.
I don't even try to get up,
just sink into myself once
again but this time
so deep you can't hurt me
anymore.
I just become numb,
waiting for someone
to save me,
anyone really.
But no one will come,
as bystanders watch,
watching me take blow
after blow,
this pain will never end.
