"What do we do," Spaw found herself asking to no one in particular.

The transmission fizzed to life as Marcus showed, looking extremely angry with them. Spaw couldn't blame him, but she would have liked to get home in one peace.

Galaxy stayed by her pup as Trek pressed himself against Spaw's other side. She was faintly aware of Trap making his way over and trying to almost guard her mother. Trek looked agitated about that, but Spaw couldn't help but feel hope at that.

"I thought that we could do this the easy way, son," Marcus began as he drummed his fingers. "But, don't make me say that you went rogue in deep space. Hand him over or I will destroy your ship."

Jim's eyes widened as he looked at Galaxy first, then Spaw. "Wait! My crew was just following my orders. They're innocent. Don't punish them for my mistakes."

"I'll make this quick," growled Marcus.

"Wait!"

Carol then stepped forward and looked at her him. "I don't believe that the man who raised me is capable of this and if I'm wrong then you're going to have to do it with me on board."

Marcus smiled before she began to fizz away. She disappeared a heartbeat later and Spaw began to shake. She licked her lips as she continued to bury her face in her mother's soft flank. Galaxy began to soothe her with licks around her ears, but it wasn't enough. Everyone knew what was coming and they were going to look to Jim for answers.

"What are we going to do," Galaxy breathed as she looked up at Jim.

"He's going to begin to destroy this ship," Trap announced as he looked at the screens around him. "Our shields aren't strong enough to repel him."

Jim stood up and paced slightly. "I know. I know."

He suddenly stopped pacing and looked directly to Galaxy. "Come with me."

Spaw bounded after her mother, even after her mother had given her a stern growl to stay where she was. Spaw wasn't about to just stay behind while her mother risked her life. They were a team now! Now that her father was no longer there to look after her mother.

Spock suddenly beat the lift doors closing as he almost leaped forward. "Captain, I would strongly suggest other options."

"You don't know what I'm doing," Jim snapped back as he waited for the doors to open.

When they did he raced out, but Spock was right behind him. "As the only way to stop the Admiral it would be to sneak aboard and you would need to take someone with the knowledge to operate that ship and the only one that can do that is Kahn."

Jim stopped and whirled around, nearly stepping on Spaw's tail. "I know what is smart. I also know what I have to do." He pursed his lips before he turned and walked back.

Spaw bounded after him with her mother at her side. "Do you think that we can pull this off," she inquired.

Galaxy looked almost defeated when she answered. "We can only hope."

They veered into the medbay where Pulse was standing guard over Kahn. Kahn didn't dare move with a wolf like Pulse prowling back and forth. His remaining eye gleamed while his other eye was blank and cloudy with a long scar over it. Spaw knew that she wouldn't want to mess with Pulse if she didn't know him.

"What are you doing here," Pulse asked as he met Galaxy's eyes.

Galaxy dipped her head. "Jim has a plan and we need Kahn."

"Kahn," echoed Skull as he bounded forward, his silver fur on top of his head lighting in the medbay's now limited light. "Is that a good idea?"

Spaw shook her head. "Not at all, but what other choice do we have."
