Epilogue

"Spaw, could I talk to you?"

Spaw looked over her shoulder as Trek bounded forward, his eyes bright with excitement.

She dipped her head as he approached, a customary greeting between wolves. "Why, hello, Trek. Is there something that you need," she inquired.

Trek blushed slightly as he looked at his paws. He then looked up and sighed a bit. "Well, we're going back on the Enterprise first thing tomorrow morning and we'll on be on the same ship, but there's not a lot of room-"

"Just spit it out, Trek," chided Spaw sternly, yet her eyes betrayed her amusement. "I haven't gotten all night."

Trek gulped. "I was wondering if you wanted to go for a flight? I thought that you might enjoy that."

Spaw rose to her paws and arched her back in a massive stretch. She then spread her wings and stretched her feathers as far as they would go. She then retracted a bit with her eyes glowing in amusement. "I would love that," she announced with a dip of her head. "Let's go!"

Trek couldn't help but smile as he bounded forward. Spaw laughed as she pelted after him. The two emerged into the open space before she took to the air, kicking off the ground.

Trek did the same beside her and the two flew as close to each other as they could manage. Spaw laughed before she felt someone hovering above her.

She looked up and saw Skull hovering around her. The healer laughed before he twisted in the air and came down beside Spaw. She then saw that Trap joined Skull on the other side of her.

Spaw looked around and realized that she hadn't been this happy for some time. She closed her eyes, pulled her paws against her body and angled her wings, just like her father had told her so long ago.

Suddenly, everything began to blur around her as the happiness filled her from wingtip to claws. She began to gain speed before she saw everyone vanish around her. Her eyes widened in hope as she saw the most beautiful things around her.

Her parents may be dead, but there was still hope and a change at life that was even better than she could imagine. She had her friends and her job. This was only the beginning.
