When they arrived at the Enterprise, everyone was staring at them and Spaw wasn't sure how to feel. Her pelt was prickling in embarrassment as she looked to her mother for guidance. Luckily, she seemed to get the point as she drew toward her daughter. She gave her a comforting light between the ears before they continued forward.
"Spaw!"
Spaw turned and saw Skull bounding over to her with his eyes flickering. Skull touched her nose to his and he urged her away. "What was it like to catch him?"
"It wasn't that bad," she answered truthfully. "I really didn't do anything. I was just there for the ride."
"Come on, Skull," urged Pulse as he bounded forward with Bones at his side.
Skull and Spaw began to walk forward side by side with their fur brushing against each other. They made their way into the prison section. Spaw hadn't actually been there before and she wasn't sure if she liked that idea. But, she wasn't just going to stand there either and her mother had requested that she come.
She let out a breath that she didn't know that she was holding as she drew toward the murderer. She wasn't sure why she had told her mother not to end his life, but she had. She suddenly felt a strange sensation churning in her stomach.
She stopped dead before Skull turned and tipped his head. "Are you okay?"
Spaw nodded as she bounded forward, struggling not to show her fear showing in her eyes. "I'm okay," she reassrued as she forced a smile as she looked at Spaw. "I'm okay."
They continued forward as they made their way to the cell. They stood by Pulse as Pulse looked on cooly. He licked his lips as he snorted deeply. "Look at him, cowering in there? He's no so powerful now, is he?"
"Definitely not," agreed Bones before he and Pulse made his way toward the cell. Skull scuttled forward as well with his eyes looking at the man.
"Bring your arm over here and I'm going to take a blood sample," Bones ordered before he pressed something to Skull's paws.
Skull grasped it as he spread his wings and flapped up as he opened the screen slightly and took a blood sample. He then plopped back down as he sunk his teeth into it gingerly. He turned to look at Spaw and tipped his head slightly before he bounded forward with Pulse and Bones at his side.
Spaw then drew forward and looked at him. She licked her lips as she tried to show her power and strength. She didn't want this man to think that he could get away with what he had done. He killed Pike! He killed her father! They deserved justice! But, justice wasn't killing him. Spaw didn't believe that.
"What did he do to you," asked Trap as he gazed down at Spaw.
Spaw took him in. Now that he was in the enterprise his light brown fur was a little lighter in the artificial light. His eyes were gleaming amber and he appeared strong, despite his smaller and lanky size. He didn't seem that much older than Spaw if she really thought about it. But, she wasn't about to ask him. That certainly wouldn't get her anywhere.
"He killed my father," answered Spaw as she gazed at him intently, speaking to Spock, Jim, and her mother. "I think that he needs to pay, but not by being murdered."
Trap sucked in a breath before he licked his lips. "That's a very different way of thinking about it. But, I admire your decision."
Spaw was sure that that should make her feel better, but she wasn't sure about it. She didn't know about him, but she thought that she could trust him.
Spaw drew toward her mother and saw that the man was facing away. "What would you do for your family?"
Galaxy looked down at Spaw and drew her closer to her. Spaw knew that her mother had been a little clingy after her father's death, but she didn't mind much.
"Come on," barked Galaxy as she steered her daughter away. "I don't want you anywhere near Kahn."
Spaw dipped her head. "Can I go and see if Trek's okay?"
"Of course. Also, have Bones check you out. I want to make sure that you don't have any injuries," she whispered before she gave Spaw a tiny nudge in the haunch.
Spaw smiled before she darted forward with her paws pounding against the ground. She then surged forward and they veered toward the medbay. She made her way in and smiled when she saw Trek sleeping. She made her way as she touched her nose to his paws, hoping for him to stir.
Trek groaned as he turned and blinked his eyes before he realized that Spaw was standing in front of him. "Spaw? Spaw?"
"I'm right here. I had to leave for a little bit, but I got him," exclaimed Spaw in excitement. She then decided that she was talking too loud and she lowered her voice. "We got Kahn."
Trek sat up and immediately regretted it as he lowered down with his eyes showing pain. "Did you try and kill him?"
"No, my mother did. I saved him from being killed by my mother, but I don't know why," she confessed with a shrug.
Suddenly, Jim came into the medbay and Bones immediately came over with Pulse following. "Bones, do you think that you can open a torpedo?"
"A what," gasped Bones with his eyes widening in shock. "Are you out of your mind?"
Galaxy then looked to Pulse. "How about you?"
Pulse looked almost shocked as he nodded slowly. "I suppose so, but I'm not exactly sure what I could possibly do with one that you would want me to do."
Bones still didn't look happy about it, but he nodded as he shrugged. "Alright, sure, I suppose that I can," he replied.
"I can help too," offered Skull as he came forward with nervousness showing on his face.
"Very well," replied as he turned with Galaxy following.
Spaw came over to Skull and touched her nose to his and couldn't help but rumble in pleasure. "Be safe, please. I don't know what I would do if something happened to you."
"Don't worry. I'll be fine," reassured Skull.
"Skull, let's get ready," called Pulse as he threw his head sideways, snorting deeply as he made his way through their supplies as he saw what he could use.
Spaw watched him go with a feeling churning in her stomach. What if that's the last time that I see him?
