I woke to a rough hand clasping over my mouth. I tried to scream but my voice was muffled. The person behind me then whispered into my ear, "shhh, I'm not going to hurt you, they will."
Confusion filled me, till I heard loud footsteps of multiple people. I peeked out of the bushes and saw some normal people, some military people. When I looked closer I noticed the same blue specks all on their skin as the people before, their eyes were an empty blue, as they looked around aimlessly in the forest. Slowly the stranger who may have saved my life removed their hand and sat waiting for the blue people to get far enough away to be a safe distance.
After what seemed like hours he stood up and offered to help me up. I ignored it, stood up and questioned,"Who the hell are you?!?"
He rolled his eyes then said "calm down, I just saved your ass and that's the welcome I get???"
"Fine, Thank you, now who are you?!"
"Alright, alright, I'm Adrian. I was heading back to the city after camping when I saw a bunch of people getting injected with this weird blue stuff, then this guy grabbed me and tried to do the same, but I got away. I was heading back to get help when I saw you."
"Do you know what the blue stuff is???"
"I'm not sure, I just know they don't act the same after. They just follow orders and nothing else. If you refuse I think you get killed or something."
"I wonder if it effects everybody?"
"I don't know. But um- who are you?"
"Oh I'm Isabella, I ran before they could get to me when they first came into our part of the city."
"Well I'm going to the town on the other side of the forest to see if they have power. I need to find my family."
"How do you know they might have power?"
"I don't but it's my best shot, you should come with me, we would do better together if they come back."
"I guess as long as your going to he next town, I need to find my parents."
"Ok let's go."
We begin to walk south. The only noise that fills our silence is that of the forest. I'm filled with hope that we can find somewhere that can explain this disaster.
