"How are we supposed to get in?" I ask.
Henrick replies," We will have to sneak in, the train station is right past that building," He points to a tall building that looks to be surrounded by a few guards. "We will have to sneak past a few soldiers, if you have to... You will need to stop them."
"Do you mean, kill them?" Adrian asks.
"Exactly."
We all look down at our feet unsure what to say next. "Ok, well we need to leave now before the sun rises or the fact that we aren't like them will be way more obvious."
We all nod and then we begin to run to the city, hiding behind trees every once and a while, looking to see if there's anyone on watch. Finally we get up to the city limits, looking in from the outside. We have to duck every time we see a soldier walking bye.
We stand behind what looks like a red shed. As a soldier walks bye. Once they disappear behind a building we begin to run. But then we see another soldier walk bye, we hide at the perfect time.
I'm ducking behind a trash can that's just big enough to block prying eyes from seeing me, When I look up I realize that we have split up, the rest of the group has gone in the other direction to hide.
I keep repeating Henrick's directions, just behind that tall building. I look up and see that the building is in front of me, and slightly to the left, but I would have to run out into the street and cross it to get there. I bite my lip nervously, surprising even myself, I run out into the street. The lamp post flickers, but nothing else happens, no one jumps out to attack me, nothing.
I hurry and get to the big building, I start going around it, the train station now visible to my eyes. As I'm about to go around one more corner, someone grabs me. I try to scream but only a whimper seems to come out.
As I get a look at him, I ketch a glimpse in his eyes, It's as if time stops for just a moment, and I stare at their eyes... Blank blue pierces me, they look look so empty with no emotion, nothing, like some sort of mechanical machine.
Then I abruptly jump back to reality as the man grabs my wrists, struggling the gun away from me. He aims the gun at me about to shoot. I look at him once again in the eyes, hoping there's some sort of emotion in them... Something. But no, their just blank. They say your eyes are the windows to your soul, well if I believe that, I'd say he has no soul.
I close my eyes, wondering how it feels when you die. The alarming sound of a gun echoes in my ears. But I feel perfectly fine other then the fact that I think my heart is going to jump out of my chest.
I slowly open my eyes looking around, I see Adrian standing there with a gun in his hands and then the man on the ground, his eyes staring up at me blankly. Adrian shot him.
"Are you ok?!"
"Y-yeah" I answer.
"Come on, the train is going to leave soon."
I nodded then pick up my gun that has fallen next to the soulless, dead man.
I ran up next to Adrian and we begin to walk into the underground train station. When I walk in, it looks kind of old and absent as a train sits on the track waiting for us. Maps and signs are stuck on the walls. We quickly run up to the train and hop in. Henrick, and the others are sitting waiting with a few other people. They must be from the Unit in Spring Field. The door shuts right after Adrian walks in after after me. We sit together on the other side with rows of seats as silence fills the room. Everyone seems to finally be tired.
As I sit net to Adrian I begin to drift into a deep, restless sleep. Spring Field here we come.
