Chapter Four

Two days later, Glinda finally explains the steps to me.

Think of what you want

Picture it

And reach for it

I follow the steps until the last one. You can't do this, You can't do this! No, you can do this!

I reach inside my body and grab my heart. I pull it out with a jolt of pain. Oh my gosh, Oh. My. Gosh. Ow. This hurts! "That's more amazing than how my mother described it!" Glinda stares at me with amazed brown eyes. As I manage to put a smile on my face and the pain goes away, "Can I?" She asks, gesturing to my heart. I nod and she takes it. I can feel Glinda's fingers glide gently across my heart. It tickles.

Taking my heart out, I thought would look disgusting but my heart looks as it is a clear piece of glass with red smoke inside along with black all lit up and swirling around.

"My other sister, Theodora, her heart withered away and she became wicked. I was talking to the Wizard about going to save her," Glinda states, "He doesn't think it's a good idea."

"Well, nothing he can say will stop me from saving her," I say, loathing the Wizard. A small sparkle of thankfulness gleams in her eyes. I smile and give her a loving hug before she offers me my heart back, "I have an idea that I could use that for something." The little china girl had disappeared somewhere.

"I'll get a box for it then," Glinda walks out of the room just as I see the girl again. She appears from behind the side of the couch and climbs into Glinda's seat. The little girl still seems scared of me. Inch by inch she scoots closer.

"Did you really take out your heart out," The doll whispers after a couple seconds of silence. I nod at her and hold out my hand.

"Do you want me show you?" I ask. The little girl climbs into my hand, so I lift it up towards my chest. She puts her ear up to where my heart should be. After a a few ticks she looks up at me in wonder. Her face is priceless as I smile down at her.
