Chapter Eight

"Glinda, you need to leave!" Boq pulls at my shoulder. I push his hand off me. My focus is on the spell book Elphie gave me. There is a mirror in front of me. I need to see her one last time. I mumble a window spell under my breath, "It's not going to work, Glinda! Give up!"

"Please, just shut up Biq!" I say as he interrupts my focus again. I get up and walk to the other side of the room to look out of the window. I'm full of frustration and almost out of hope.

"Boq! Where's Galinda?" A familiar voice comes where I left.

"Who are you?" Boq asks to the mirror. I rush over and kneel down. The girl in front of me is beautiful. Perfect light tan skin, orange red hair, her features slightly pinched, and beautiful blue eyes. The outfit though, is made of black.

"Oh, Galinda I missed you!" the girl says. Its Elphaba! But she's not green, a little purple and blue on the face, though.

"Elphie is that really you?" the girl in the reflection nods, "You're not green anymore! How did that happen? Oh never mind. Where in Oz are you?" I have so many confusifying questions for her.

"I'm in a different Oz. I fell through a hole and landed here," Elphie says.

"Chistery fell through a hole in the dark forest. Is he there with you?" I ask worried about the adorable monkey. The little monkey comes scampering over holding Elphie's hat. This is an opportunity for me to leave this dreaded place, "Can I come? It's boring here with only a Tin Man as company," I earn a cold glare from Boq.

"Not right now, it's winter here and it's snowing I can'-" Elphie gets interrupted by a knock on the door of the room she's in.

"Is Theodora in there with you?" a young voice calls, "I couldn't find her anywhere."

"Who's asking and no, she's not in here. I thought she went to her room," Elphie says this as she trembles in fear. She puts her finger to her lips and looks at me.

"I'm Evenora, Theodora's sister. Are you sure she's not there? I searched every other room," I hear Evenora twist the handle on the door. It comes unlocked but the door doesn't open.

"Fiyero, hide!" Elphie whispers. Fiyero? Her arm is extended with the palm out at the door, not touching anything. I finally see something. A girl older than Elphie is laying on the bed. Her brown hair is black at the ends.

"Let me in you witch! I know she's in there!" Evenora presses on. I can tell Elphie is starting to get mad. The tips of her fingers are turning green. Finally Elphie's hand goes down in exhaustion. I see the most horrifying thing I have ever seen.

"You lied," Evenora pushes her hand out and green electricity shoots at Elphaba making my best friend scream in pain. She electrocutes for a long amount of time. Evenora suddenly stops as Elphie starts crying, making her tears steam on her face, "Elphaba? My little sister?" the realization sinks in on Evenora's face, "I thought you were dead," fake emotion plays on her face, "My wicked little sister!"

The expression on Elphaba's face hardens in the matter of ticks on the clock, "Don't. Call. Me. Wicked!" She screams and Evenora flies out of the room in sync with Elphie's rage. The door slams and locks.

Just like that, my now green best friend is passed out on the floor. I look behind me to see Boq gone. At the moment. I don't care. A scarecrow comes out from behind one of the curtains on the left side of the room. Even being a scarecrow I still recognize him.

"Fiyero!" My face lights up as I see his handsome face. I reach at the mirror wanting to touch him.

Amazingly, my hand passes through to the other side.
