Tony glared at Bucky as the small teenage girl in the bed lost all senses and faded to unconsciousness. Why did she point and smile at Bucky before passing out? Why Bucky? What's so special about him of all people? Bucky looked at the girl as her hand fell from pointing at her. He was confused about everything. About her. About how they found her. About how she was in a container in a Hydra facility and yet he had no recollection of her. He had no idea what happened with her.

He couldn't figure out for the life of him where she came from or what was going on with her. Her face was undoubtedly familiar to something deep inside of him, but he couldn't place where he knew her from it why she was familiar.

"You know her...?" Tony hesitantly asked him. Bucky shook his head without looking away from the girl.

"I don't know her... but somehow she looks familiar... I don't know how though..." Bucky reported. Tony sighed to himself and began telling the others what to do.

"Nat and Clint you two need to find a way to wake her up and keep her that way. Bucky you need to figure out a way to remember her or why you know her. Natasha you also need to figure out how she knows Bucky. I'm going to do what I can to fix her arm." Everyone nodded and did as Tony told them.

Bucky went to sit on a couch to remember. Clint managed to find a way to wake her up and Natasha began asking her questions. Tony stayed true to his word and began to work on a new arm for the girl. Natasha gently approached the girl.

"Hey honey... been through a lot haven't you?" A nod. "Yeah? We saw how happy you got when you saw Bucky. You know him then?" Another nod. "That's interesting... he doesn't remember you honey..." A head tilt. "He's trying to remember you though. I have a feeling he's close. You know Tony? The man in the iron suit who saved you? He's making you a new arm! You want a better arm?" A nod. "That's good. He's going to try his best to make your new arm better. It won't break down as much. You'll like that then?" Another nod. "Would you be okay talking? It would really help me." A hesitant nod, but a nod nonetheless.

The girl opened her mouth and let out a shaky breath. She cleared her throat and looked back up at Natasha.

"I've read all about him... the Winter Soldier. Everyone has heard of him in that base. He knew me. Well in a way. My mother was the blonde woman in a container. She wasn't supposed to, but she got pregnant and gave birth to me. As a result of that, the Hydra agents sterilised me when they felt it was time. I used to shadow behind my mother when she was in the base. When she fought the Winter Soldier, I was taken away by the doctors. They wanted me to fight too. So they injected me with the serum and tried to bring out the assassin I would become. It wasn't hard. Eventually, six years later, when I was twelve, they said I was ready. For a year I went around on my missions. I did as I was ordered. Killed who I needed to. I wasn't able to think for myself. Learn right from wrong. I was only ever told what was right and wrong. I thought everyone was gone... but he's right there." She said, pointing at Bucky toward the end.

Natasha's eyes widened at the small girl's speech. She couldn't believe that such a shy seeming girl wanted to say so much. And about Bucky nonetheless. She didn't know what to do. She'd done what Tony said. Gotten the information.

Bucky stopped thinking and stared at the girl. He couldn't believe it. She's been in that base...? And she's been a soldier born and raised there no less? How could she have been? He didn't remember her... so how could she possibly remember him? It was a while ago... perhaps her memory was enhanced. Perhaps she has abilities that they didn't give him?

Clint was the first to break the silence after her speech.

"You must be hungry. Yeah?" A nod. "Well then why are we keeping her cooped up in here? Let's bring her to the kitchen. She needs to eat. After all, she's human too." Natasha nodded and helped Clint remove the girl from the machines. Bruce came back into the room and asked if she could walk. She nodded her head and let Clint help her off the bed.
Clint, Natasha, and Bucky helped guide the girl to the kitchen where they sat her on a seat at the island/bar. Tony stayed in the lab to work on an arm while Steve walked in from the lounge. Clint showed her the fridge and its contents, asking her what she wanted to eat. She pointed to a pomegranate, so he helped her break it open and get the seeds out.

Steve asked Natasha and Bucky what had happened with the girl while she was in the med bay. They filled him in and he gave Bucky a puzzled glance.

"She was a soldier...?" Natasha nodded.

"She went through the same stuff me and Bucky went through... so she's an it disoriented. But she remembers what Hydra was like and whenever she encountered Bucky." Bucky nodded.

"Well what should we do with her? She can't be left alone, but we can't kill her like I assume Hydra wanted. Would we be able to take care of her?" Nat looked at Clint who was smiling at the girl, who ended up sharing her pomegranate with the man.

"It looks like Clint is already fine with her being here. He likes her." She replied. "And I'm sure Tony and Bruce can work with her on science, Thor can figure something out, but the others, I don't know. I doubt anyone wants this kid in the streets. And she's dealt with enough that she probably shouldn't go to a orphanage. What if her father finds her there? Then what? He'll hand her back over to Hydra. Unless he's going to hurt her himself. I did some research on him, he's a well known alcoholic and abuser. For now, she should stay."

"Alright. She can stay with us here until or unless we find a better solution." Natasha smirked.

"And if we like her too much? Or there is no other better solution?"

"Then she can stay. But we have to make sure that the government knows she is technically our kid. All of us will have to sign a form telling them that we are her guardians."

"Guardians of the world, now guardians of a teenage girl." Steve chuckled a bit.

"How hard could it be?"

Bucky looked toward Clint and the girl. He smiled at the sight. She was placing seeds from the pomegranate on the table in a line, almost like it was OCD, and Clint was 'pecking' them up, cawing like a bird. The girl finally noticed when she a fan making rows. She looked at Clint and giggled. He laughed and kept eating the seeds just like that. She giggled again and began doing the same thing, cawing as well. After hearing the cawing, Steve and Natasha looked back at Clint and the girl. They both began chuckling at the sight of the two. Natasha got out her phone and began recording them.

Steve chuckled as he saw Bucky smile at Clint and the girl. The atmosphere was comfortable and peaceful. No one wanted to talk and interrupt the random, occasional bird calls emitting from the grown man and teenage girl.

"How hard could it be?"
