She woke the next morning to the peaceful serenity of a Japanese song playing on the radio on the tabletop beside the bed. She smiled at the memory of the balcony on the roof and how the city and night sky looked at three in the morning. Jarvis' voice came into the room and made her jump up in surprise. She hasn't been excepting the AI to greet her.

"Good morning miss. Mister Stark would like you to take your time this morning, but please make your way to the living space. The rest of the team wishes to speak with you. Please brush your hair and if you like, get dressed for the day. Mister Stark said you did not have to get dressed, and if you wish you may spend the day in your pyjamas. I will prepare breakfast for you if you wish." She nodded warily.

"T-thank you... I suppose I'll have s-some toast..."

"Are you sure you only want toast for breakfast? It's an important meal, and I can make something else if you are hungrier." She nodded.

"Toast is fine Jarvis. Thank you." She smiled, knowing the AI had a way to see her.

"Very well ma'am. I shall prepare toast for breakfast."

She smiled and sloppily rubbed the sleep out of her eye with her left hand. Sure, she'd lived with her right arm being metal for years, but her left hand still wasn't anywhere near the skill her right hand was. She pushed the dark red sheets off her legs and walked over to the large writing desk.

She looked around and found a black, smooth wooden brush, lying next to a laptop and a desktop setup. She picked it up and undid the braid Loki had done for her the day before. She ran the brush through her smooth hair and let it down in waves from the braid being in the night before. She took off her pyjamas and grabbed a black tank top and dark blue jeans.

Walking out of her room, she realised she had no idea where she was going. And odds were, the rest of the Avengers were in the living room. Jarvis was, as usual, very helpful in this instant.

"Ma'am, the living room is this way." He pulled up a holographic map on the wall. She smiled and made her way to the living room where the rest of the team was. She shyly looked around and stood awkwardly by the door.

"Come on kiddo. Have a seat. You're not in trouble, we just want to talk to you about what we're all gonna do." Tony chuckled at her hesitation.

She nodded her head and sat down in the couch beside Pietro. He turned to her and smiled supportively. She noticed his smile and felt a twinge of panic about why she had been called down. Steve shot a look to Bucky and Tony. Tony nodded his head and the ghost of a smile graced his features. Steve looked to her and smiled.

"So kiddo, since we found you, at that place in Russia, and since your mother is, gone, we want to ask you what you want to do, before we make any decisions. We are planning, with your permission, to adopt you. Of course you don't have to answer right now, but we would like you to think about it." Her jaw dropped. After all, the Avengers had just told her that they wanted to freaking adopt her.

Pietro looked at her and chuckled. He leaned closer to her, as if telling her a secret.

"There is no pressure to say yes, принцесса, but I do wish you consider the option." She closed her mouth and swallowed heavily.

It was a big deal, after all. If she said yes, there was a significant chance her life would be in constant danger. On the other hand, she would have to go into adoption if she said no. Either way, the world would discover a second Winter Soldier. Then there would be mass panic. People wouldn't feel safe again.

I can't just take away the safety that the civilians just gained... and what about when they learn about another Winter Soldier wandering around with the Avengers protecting it? No one would feel safe again. But I can't say no, otherwise I'll have to go into a orphanage.

She had no idea what to say to any of it. Tony smiled at her and nodded.

"If you say yes, you can pick any of our last names to use. After all, it's a big deal, a last name." Her eyes widened even more.

"I need to t-think..." she shyly said. Pietro was the only one close enough to hear, and so he relayed the information she said to the rest of the team. The group nodded collectively.

"Ma'am, your breakfast is prepared. I understand you asked for just toast, and so I prepared toast with butter, but I could not stand by while thinking you need more food. Thus I have also prepared a small fruit salad made up of grapes, watermelon, and strawberries. Forgive me for not doing just what you requested." Jarvis' voice rang out clear and crisp through the silence in the room.

She quickly stood and walked into the kitchen where her food sat, waiting for her. She grinned at the sight of the colourful food laid out in front of her seat. At first she was uncertain of the salad, but seeing it and being able to smell the food, she was glad Jarvis was as kind as he was.

She sat down and began quickly wolfing down the food she was presented with. Once the toast was gone, she moved onto the salad. She slowed her eating process as soon as she let the fruit pass her lips. As soon as she began chewing the watermelon, she was flooded with a good memory.

She sat in the Hydra base with her mother. She was closing her eyes like her mother had asked, and waited patiently. Soon enough, a bowl of incredible smelling food was placed in front of her. She smiled and kicked her four year old legs in excitement. She opened her eyes to see a slice of watermelon. She smiled and laughed with ecstasy.

She smiled at the memory as Clint walked into the room.

"You like the food?" She nodded. "What do you think you'll do about our offer?"

(Y/n) sighed heavily and looked up at Clint. Before the words could leave her mouth, Pietro sped into the room. He stood in front of the table and went to grab some food, acting like he wasn't listening.

"I t-think I'll do it..." she mumbled, just loud enough for the younger of the men to hear. He sharply turned around and grinned.

"принцесса you mean it?! This is wonderful news!" She smiled at his enthusiasm. "What made you hesitate in the first place?"

Before she could speak, she was yet again interrupted by another man waltzing into the kitchen. This time it was Loki, whom Clint glared at in warning.

"She didn't want to threaten the safety of civilians. She knew that she would be exposed to the world as another one of the super soldiers, and her being who she is, she didn't want to take away the safety that the civilians had just found."

Loki smiled gently at her, knowing that he had spoken her exact thoughts. She shyly smiled, before moving her eyes back down to the bowl in front of her.

Clint grinned and went to tell the others the news.
