Hey all I'm so so so freakin sorry for being on hiatus!!!! It definitely lasted longer than expected but I needed some time to work on my mental health. Anyway, thank you all for the lovely comments and support! But, I do have one request. Please, don't comment about how the character isn't behaving like you. I know this IS a reader insert, but I couldn't make it so everyone is happy. That being said, I am basing most of the height ratios off of myself because I'm only 5 feet tall so I don't know how to write for a tall person. Also, as many of you were saying in a previous chapter, some of the clothing options were a little scandalous. Please bear in mind that this version of the reader was a HYDRA agent. This means she had to wear some things not so suitable for a 15-16 year old girl. Just please keep that in mind when future choices come into play. Thank you. Now on a better note, I'm still taking requests on anything you would like to see or see more of so feel free to add your input! I want to make this story as enjoyable as possible!

It had been five months since (y/n) moved into the compound, and she was settling in nicely, getting along with everyone, yet mostly keeping to herself. Bucky and Loki, being outsiders themselves and knowing what it's like being seen as a villain, knew something wasn't right. They couldn't quite place their finger on it but they knew something was wrong. Something was off with (y/n). She would spend her days tucked away, hidden in her room, which had been positioned permanently between Bucky and Peter, across from Steve, Tony, and Thor. The group made sure to make her as comfortable as possible in the compound, giving her brand new furniture, a whole wardrobe, even a television and speaker system.

The room was painted a beautiful navy blue, with a darker blue ceiling, (y/n) painted black silhouettes of a forest, and on the farthest wall from the windows, the faint outline of an apartment and law firm. The apartment and law firm of none other than Matt Murdock, the man who sheltered her when the Avengers couldn't. The devastation of his death still left the teenager in shock, and it was an unspoken truth that she had fallen into a spiralling depression. Every day she scoured the news looking for any traces of the man she had grown to adore and admire. The navy cabinets and dresser accented the black comforter on the bed, the grey and white pillows highlighting the theme of the room. Dark red blackout curtains adorned the windows. On the deep green desk, a single lamp and sketch pad sat, full of ideas, sketches, and the emotions felt in the past few months. (Y/n) had requested that the room have string lights along the walls, and sure enough, clipped onto the lights were Polaroid's of her friends. Some were in bad shape, being smuggled from her HYDRA days.

She sat at her computer desk, scrolling through the news aimlessly, when she got a text from an unknown number.

"Weird... Tony made this phone specifically so it doesn't get unknown numbers.."

Despite her apprehension, she picked up the phone and dropped it in shock when she saw what she read. She sprinted out the door, only pausing to throw on her combat boots. She was 16 now and was allowed to legally drive, not that this age law had stopped her before. She sprinted to the garage and jumped into her Jeep, roaring down the driveway and down the road. She had to go fast, she couldn't believe the news she had just received. She didn't know who "Wade" was or why he knew any of this, but she had a gut instinct to trust him, and she was never wrong about these things before.

Bucky's head snapped up upon hearing a door slam open from the direction of his room and when he stood from the couch, he saw (y/n) sprinting somewhere in the compound. He knew something was up, and he went to investigate her room before making any rash decisions. He hadn't expected her to take the Jeep, and he didn't even see her combat boots. Had he seen them, he would've known for sure that she was leaving. Upon entering her room, he saw nothing wrong. Her desk chair was spinning in place, probably from her sprinting out. Just as he was about to leave and see where she went, he caught a glimpse of her phone. The screen was off and he had no idea what the password was, so he went out to find Tony.

"Tony? Do you have the password for (y/n)'s phone? She just sprinted out of her room like it was a portal to HYDRA..."

As much as Tony may not have trusted or liked Bucky, when it came to the kid, he'd put everything aside to help. He managed to log into the phone to see a text from an unknown number. It was the only thing open on the phone, and it read,

"My names Wade. Listen kid, Murdock is alive."
