It's so dark.

Where am I?

I'm cold.

I'm all alone...

"Death," I kind female voice called out from nowhere. "Why do people love me and hate you?" She asked the man sitting beside her.

"Because you're a beautiful lie, and I'm an ugly truth." A growl like voice answered.

A beautiful woman whom he calls 'life' and a dark man who she calls 'death', talking to each other, feeling so close yet so far. They both can't be together...

They just can't

I pant heavily, sweating like I have run a marathon. I just woke up from a dream. About life and death. I know I can sometimes be too deep, poetic, inner, and dark and all but having this kind of dream just makes me uneasy. I took I peek at my alarm clock, only to feel annoyed as it was still 1:05 am. I lay back on my comfy bed as I can slowly feel sandman's magic starting to work on me. The next thing I knew, I was drifted into a long dreamless sleep.

"Yo sis, wake up!" I can hear someone shouting at me and wiggling me almost violently.
"Wake up!" He keeps shaking me until he got annoyed and can only let out a hiss, given up and can't take my stubbornness. I heard foot steps getting weaker and weaker, with that, I drowned back into a daze.

Moments later a cold and wet sensation lingers on my body, only to realize Gave just threw water at me. "What the heck dude?!" I growled angrily. Here I am, starting at my brother who is holding an empty glass, ready to strangle him.

"Hurry up and breakfast's downstairs. Mom's gone, so I made breakfast. If you still wanna see your precious beacon steaming hot, be there less that ten minutes." After tossing my blanket that landed on my face, he stepped out of my room.

I took a quick shower and got dressed. Since I'm not too girly and concerned about my appearance, it only took me five minutes to get ready. I went downstairs like my brother said so and found my beloved beacon waiting for me on the kitchen counter. I sat down and ate peacefully. "Took you long enough." I stand corrected.

"For the record, I got here with five minutes to spare. That's like half of your given time span." I said in my most proud tone ever.

He took down his mug away from his pink lips and formed it into a creepy grin, "Then if you only took five minutes to get ready, show off by finishing that plate within less that a minute." With his challenging tone and evil smirk, I nodded confidentiality and took my phone out of my pocket to set on the timer.

"Go!" I shouted at the same time started the timer. Gave just look at me emotionlessly, but if you look closely, you can see amusement in his eyes. I was at my last beacon when I smiled triumphantly. I then picked it up and having a moment with my last savory beacon. "Now look at that! I finished the whole plate with eight seconds to spare." I grinned with a thought of victory over my head.

"Good job," Gave pated my head and stood up from his seat. "But you forgot the plate itself." He then let  out a small chuckle, before I could give my comeback, he already left, leaving me all alone. Loneliness started to creep on me, shivering from the emotion, I grabbed my bag and rushed out of the house. Making sure that I locked our domain and it was all safe to leave it, I ran after Gave.
