Rachael's POV
Finally I'm out of those guy's uniform. When I got back home, Gave looked at me with confusion then suddenly laughed. He's my brother of course, so he can immediately tell that it's me. I just snarled at him then walked pass him to go upstairs.
An annoying alarm clock woke me up this morning. And as usual, I did my normal routine. As I walk downstairs, mom entered from the front door.
"Mom, you've been always out lately, busy?" I hugged her.
"Yeah. We worked on a surgery till this morning, so I'm beat."
Oh, I forgot. Mom is a doctor in cosmetics. Well, sort of. Me and Gave haven't been on mom's work place before, we don't even know where it is, but I'm good with not knowing anything.
We went to the kitchen and saw Gave drinking his coffee on the kitchen counter while scrolling his phone.
"Hey, mom." Gave kissed mom on the cheek then went back to his phone.
On the table, there aren't any beacons. I frown. There's only wheat bread some fruits and salad. Mom sat down on the dining table and ate. I turned to Gave and crossed my arms on him.
"If you're looking for your beacon, I didn't cook any. Eating that thing everyday isn't good for your health. Eat what's on the table." He said, still eyes on his phone. I won't argue with him, for now, but I really don't like this kind of breakfast. I took my bag then walked out of the house. I'll just eat at the school's cafeteria.
It's still early, there aren't much students that go to school at this time, and I also bet that the cafeteria is still closed. So, I'll just eat outside.
"Nope."
"Nah. Not that one."
"Oh~Nah."
I already passed multiple shops but I still haven't found a good place to eat. If not they're closed, some are too expensive as hell. I just want my sweet smoking beacon!
I was walking my way to school when someone tapped me on the shoulder. It startled me.
"Juicy beacon! What the- Xerxes?! Don't ever do that again!" He didn't reply and just looked at me emotionlessly.
"Juicy beacon? You're thinking of food this early?" He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the opposite direction.
"Hey! Where are you taking me?" Without breakfast, I didn't have the energy to pull my hand back, so I just let him drag me to who knows where. Turn here turn there, cross here cross there, not long we finally stopped. It was at around 15 minutes walk. It was a little restaurant, a kanji sign hangs above the slid wooden door. We entered inside, there aren't any customers yet, but you can already smell something tasty.
"This is a ramen shop me and the gang usually go to. Not only it's hidden somewhere in town, the ramen here are dead delicious." He sat at one of those high stools on the front desk. He rang the bell and a middle age man come out from the curtained door beside us. He looks like a Japanese.
"Oh~Xerxes, you are here early. Where's your other friends? And who is this lady you are with?" He can't pronounce some words correctly, and still has an accent. It's kinda funny though.
"Hey, Yuri-san. Nope, instead I have Rachael with me." Xerxes replied.
"Oh, I see. Your girlfriend?" The Japanese man smile.
"Wha-what?! No!" Xerxes blurted, a little blush painted on his cheeks.
I giggled, "Yes. I'm just a friend." I slightly bowed as a sigh of respect.
