Chapter 10 A smile

Rick's POV

The five of us alone with Rachael's brother are here in a nearby room. I sigh. All was glaring at Gave who was sitting on the sofa. Well, he sure is in a hot seat. It's been freakin' 10 minutes and no one dared to mutter anything.

"Can someone please kill this silence? It's irritating." I suggested. It was really annoying enough to make me loose my cool.

Cesar sigh, "Explain." He spoke.

Gave looked at him with a glare, "Explain what?" He snorted. Seriously, he is somewhat acting like a hard to get girl.

"Like hello! After lunch you suddenly pleaded at us, saying that you need our help to get Rachael back without even explaining the situation in details!" Xerxes bursted. Panting from how loud he screamed.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with what Xerxes said. We agreed because we were worried, even though you were instructing us to say things that just made us question the situation even more. Like what's with Rachael turning like that in the first place? What's with 'wish you had your own body', 'I know you love her' and those kind of sh*ty lines? And why did Rachael cried the first thing she woke up. Not to mention she was looking for you and calling your name." It was Rey's turn to speak, apparently he already took all of the questions out of the our mouth. He was still glaring Gave, not even blinking once.

Gave didn't show any signs of distress or discomfort with all of this questions, he was surprisingly calm, "I was really desperate at that time, even if my male pride crumbles and was broken, I didn't have a choice but to seek help to you guys. But what was the reason behind all of this is nothing that important, so please don't worry yourselves with it." He stated calmly. He stood up, but before he could take a step, Xerxes pinned him to the wall, clenching Gave's throat.

"Listen, I had enough with you. I was beyond my point of shoving a bomb down your throat!" His eyes were burning with anger. Now you just made the dog mad.

"Dude, calm down. Even if he would talk, he can't 'cause you're actually crashing his throat." Bryle said sarcastically. The boy growled before letting go.

Gave fell to the floor gasping for air. Weak. "As you know, me and Rachael are siblings." He started. Xerxes rolled his eyes and muttered a 'we know'. "Partly that's not true." Something snapped, we looked at Cesar's direction who was holding a broken pencil. He always plays with pens or pencils when his anxious, sometimes I feel pity for those things.

"What do you mean?" Cesar growled in a low but threatening voice. Gave just looked at him with an impassive stare.

"By means of that, we have another brother." Bryle was about to speak when Gave held his hand up, shushing him. "Other necessary questions will be answered after I explained." We all nodded. "Like I said, we have another sibling, Rachael's twin. But he died a few hours after their birth. His name was Stanley Jack Phill. Rachael knew about Jack's existence, but five years ago something happened to our family, that's when Ann took over Rachael's body. In other words, Ann comes out and let Rachael rest by taking her consciousness, and surprisingly, when Rachael comes back she's all fine. Our mom isn't always the woman of the house so she wasn't around when Ann came out. So the taking over Rachael's body kept a secret until, Rachael turned 13." Everyone was quite shocked, but they had to refrain themselves from asking necessary questions.

"That was the time Rachael had her first crush." Everyone's eyes widened. They can't help but to feel a little bit of jealousy. "Unfortunately, she got dumped." Gave said it so straightforward, acting as if it wasn't that big of a deal. While the others were so irritated by holding out their urge to find that guy who dumped her and beat him to a pulp. "She was so depressed, she won't eat nor leave her room. Then Ann came again and took over her body. That's also the reason why Rachael doesn't open up to other people anymore, especially having romantic feelings for them. You might think that's she's a little innocent girl that would fall to any kind of guy, sorry to burst your bubble but that girl is a heartless robot."

"That time when Ann first came out, you told us it's a nervous breakdown, but it isn't?" Xerxes asked, still giving a glare at Gave.

"Yes. Well, that's what her physiatrist told us, but our perspective changed since we knew about Ann."

"So, Ann is Jack?" Rey asked, stroking his imaginary beard.

Gave answered with a simple 'yes' then nodded.

The room was finally silent. All lost in daze, "Then what's the reason taking her body this time?" I asked. What? I barely said anything here.

"That's..." Gave started, hesitating. "It's too off topic and too personal." He coldly responded.

Cesar immediately replied, "It's alright. We understand." Then he walked out of the room. The awkward silence was then again, appeared.

Cesar's POV

I walked out of the current room and entered to nearby door which was Rachael is. I slowly turned the knob, hoping not to wake the sleeping girl inside.

There she was, sleeping peacefully.

Who are you and what are you doing to me?

Why must you torture me like this?

Did you bewitched me?

Whatever you did, it made me want you.

Lost in my daze, but suddenly snapped out of it when I heard a small rustle.

"C-Cesar?" Her soft weak voice squeezed my heart as she called my name. I walked towards her and sat beside the bed. I took her pale cold hands and held it in my cheeks. She was just starting at me with dead eyes.

"What are you doing to me?" I mumble under my breath. Though her hands were cold, I felt a nice sensation when I touched her. "You're killing me."

"Why would I kill you?" I slowly looked at her. She was smiling weakly, she took her hand out of my grasp and pated my head. "I can't kill my fellow weeb. Who would help me find a new anime to watch? Who would recommend me a good manga to read? Who would I tease about being a fellow otaku who actually likes BL?" She giggled.

Of course, she won't cross her own border.

She will never look at someone.

"Yeah, you're right." I smile weakly. I was about to stand up when the door bursted, literally. Darn that dog!

"El~!" Rey ran at the smiling girl.

"Yo woman! Don't ever make trouble for us again!" Xerxes said annoyed but with a tint of happiness.

"Ah, our little princess is up and smiling again!" Bryle said cheekily.

"Oh dear, who will take care of you? Of course this bastard brother of yours can't properly look after you, stay here and let me heal you with my motherly love." Rick stated like a worried mother. Sometimes I worry about that guy, maybe he won't marry since girls will be jealous of her because she makes a better wife than them.

Gave smacked Rick's head, "Excuse me, are you questioning my skills?" Gave asked irritated. Rachael just giggled at the sight of how everyone acted.

That smile can hide many secrets...

Emotions...

A lie...

Nor the truth...

And sometimes even conquer someone's heart.
