Sarah Jane's POV
The 4 of us watched the sun set and hurried back home. Where I washed my hair and then gave Gypsy a bath.

I scrubbed the shampoo into her hair with my fingertips. She giggled as she played with a rubber duck.

"Gyp", I asked.

"Yeah?"

"What do you think of Corey?", I asked, curious.

She looked up at me with innocent eyes.

"Corey? Corey is cute. And funny! And he's so nice! He plays with me sometimes. He  watches tv with me and, and ,and he makes good pizza. I like him. And he knows all those movie star people. And he takes me for ice cream when I'm good.", she said.

My heart melted.

"What do you think of marrying Corey?", I asked pouring water over her hair.

"A WEDDING!? Can I be the flower girl!? And you get to wear one of those princess dresses and Corey gets to dress like groom Ken doll!", she said, excited.

"Gyp, sweetness, we aren't gettin' married tomorrow! But...is it a good idea?", I asked.

I was asking a 6 year old for advice.

"Do you love him?", she asked, surprisingly serious.

"....yeah. I do. To the moon and back.", I said, in a daze.

"Then go for it!"

...
Corey's POV
It felt like smooth sailing. We were now in Oklahoma and I was taking my turn driving.

Well, that smooth sailing didn't last long.

The red and blue lights pierced the darkness. "Crap.", I said.

Patrick looked daggers at me as I pulled over.

The officer was around 5'5 and the size of a teddy bear.

I rolled down my window, "Hi officer. What seems to be the problem?"

Not only did this guy look like a teddy bear, he acted like one. Even sounded like one.
Not that I know what a teddy bear would sound like.

"See, I had to pull you over because, see, you drove over the line a little. I'm sorry. I need your license.", he said shyly.

"My license to drive?", I said joking.

Patrick still looked like he could murder me.

I reached in my wallet and got my license and handed it to the teddy bear of Okal.

He walked back to his car and within a minutes time he was back.

"Here's your license Mr. Haim. Have nice night, drive safe."

I resumed my driving.

"I think we need to talk about the future.", Patrick said.

This caught me off guard. He didn't really speak to me much at all in the last hours. And it was almost dark.

"Sure.", I said.

"Corey. See, the thing is, I'm very protective of my daughter. She's my only child. And my whole world. She's been through a lot. From being beat on in a orphanage, to being a actress and her maniac/depression and trust issues.
I'd really hate to see her in pain. I'm only putting you in this position to make sure she won't end up unhappy. You know how family's are! A couple gets married, has kids, gets divorced, a battle begins.
You know. And I hate to think of that happening to you and Sarah Jane. But you are a good kid.", he confessed.

"I don't blame you. I hate to see her hurt, too! I'd do anything for her.", I agreed.

If I didn't know better, I'd tell you Patrick was smiling.

...
4 hours later
We arrive at this inn next to where The Outsiders was filmed. Outside on the wooden deck was most of the cast.

I turned off the car and Patrick went to greet the cast, but I stayed in the car a little longer. I was just thinking of SJ.

I joined the cast and met Ralph and Ellie.

"Hi Cor!", Ellie said.

"Hi there Ellie. Are there any phones around?"

She smiled. "Inside, you have a room with a phone."

I smiled and thanked Ellie. Ellie was always so sweet and kind. SJ thought the world of her.

I wanted to talk to Sarah Jane, so I asked the clerk for my room key.

I didn't have any luggage as it had gotten stolen.

She handed me a brass key and a room number. I nearly broke my neck trying to get to my room.

I called and waited inpatiently for her to pick up.

"Hello? Swayze house.", a familiar voice said.

"Baby girl!"

"Corey!? Corey! Oh my God, I've missed you! What's happened? Hows my dad? Are you getting along alright? Do you still love me?", she asked, going a mile a minute.

"Babe, its been quite the adventure."
