Sarah Jane's POV
Today was the day Corey and my father started home. I was way ahead of excited. Hopefully, Corey and I might start wedding plans. I was nervous about my father. But I wanted to see him, too.

It was early morning. I still had a whole lotta fan mail to finish reading. But I went to eat breakfast instead. Edward was sitting at the table reading A Dinner of Onions.

A big, poetic book. Not something a boy like Edward would serve a second glace to.
I would've asked why he was reading it, but he slammed it down on the table.

"What's your problem?", I asked pouring milk in my cereal.

He sighed loudly.
"This girl in this book. All she does is cry, and cry, and cry.", he complained.

"Then why are you reading it?", I asked taking a bite of my now prepared cereal.

"Sal dared me to read a 'real book'. Whatever that means", he informed.

I smiled to myself. Sal was Edwards best friend. We get along well.

"Oh! I almost forgot", Edward said, handing me a box. "This came for you."

I took the switchblade out of my pocket, which I carried around with me since I was attacked a few years back, and cut open the tape. I opened the box.

Inside was a script and some paperwork. I read the letter and it was from a studio. I squealed like a child.

"What is it?", Edward asked.

"They want me to appear as thr main character on a new show, called 'Touched By An Angel'. I gotta go see the crew tomorrow and meet my cast. Edward! A show! Something steady and it could help people!", I said, beyond happy.

"Way to go!", Edward cheered pulling me into a tight hug.
I was so excited to tell everyone. And Corey and my dad are coming home! Perfect.

"Come on", I told Edward as I grabbed my bag.

"Where we going?", he asked.

"I wanna make a special dinner for dad and Corey."

...
Edward and I arrived home with groceries. I planned on making turkey and sides and cheesecake.

"Good God, Sarah Jane, it isn't Thanksgiving!", Edward joked as I unpacked ingredients.

"Yeah. But today is special. Today, Corey and I might get daddy's blessing to get married.", I said happily as i preheated the oven.

"I'm gonna miss you.", he said.

I stopped what I was doing.
"You can see me whenever you want. I'll still be around.", I confirmed.

"Where do you want me?", he asked smiling.

I handed him the potatoes and a knife. "Cut 'em up, move 'em out", I joked.

I turned the radio up loud and danced as I worked. I was so excited.

...
8:41 pm
The sound of gravel being ran over was distant, but to me, it was loud.

My mother, Edward, grandpa and grandma, Gypsy, and Wayne waited in the dining room as I ran outside to meet the boys.

The beat up blue caddie was hard to look at really. It was a shame some teenager probably wrecked it.

It came to a stop and whoever was driving put it in park.

Daddy and Corey stepped out and I couldn't control myself. My mother met my dad halfway to the house, but I ran to Corey.

I threw my arms around his neck and we spun in circles for a second.

"My God!", I said, "I've missed you". My words were cut short by kisses.

He wrapped his arm around me and we joined everyone inside.

I hugged my father proudly, informing him on how I had missed him.

"Come on, SJ and I made dinner", Edward announced.

"Oh God, get ready for food poisoning", my dad joked.

When the meal was over, my father sent Edward and everyone else the bed, so myself and Corey and my parents sat at the cleared table.

"Now", my dad began, "we all know what we need to talk about."

Corey and I held hands, but I noted that Corey didn't seem the least bit worried.

"Corey is a fine young man. And I think after these days we spent together, I would trust him with my life. But I already knew, before this trip, I trusted him with my little girl.", my father said.

"So...", I said, wishing he would get to the point already.

"Sarah Jane, Corey, you have my blessing.", my father said, smiling surprisingly.

I squealed like child and ran over to my dad and showered him with kisses and 'thank you' and 'I love you's.

Corey had that smirk of his on his face. Like he already knew.

Corey and I went outside. We sat on the porch swing. I smiled at the thought of my wedding day.

"You knew, didn't you?", I asked.

He nodded.

"You're bad", I scolded, but happily.

He nodded, still smirking.

"Corey?", I asked

"Yes, baby girl?" I just loved when he called me 'Baby girl'.

"I love you."

He smiled sweetly, "I love you, too."

...
Corey's POV
Sarah Jane and I held hands. She was daydreaming, and the night was like a dream itself. With fireflies and crickets, it was movie worthy.

I can see it now, Sarah Jane walking down the aisle with her dad by her side. And we'd say our vows and we'd seal it with a kiss. Our mom's would cry and everyone would clap. Then we'd move into a nice big house. And have a dozen kids and teach them how to dream.

"A dozen!?", SJ asked.

I guess I was thinking out loud.
